Welcome to Waikato, Rosheel!

The Mainstream Coffee Cart has made the journey down from Auckland to Hamilton — and our new Strategic Partner , Hamilton Sales Representative, Rosheel Sharma, has wasted no time getting out and about!

Rosheel kicked things off by shouting the Hamilton team a coffee before taking the Coffee Cart out on the road and visiting customers across the Waikato.

What better way to introduce yourself than with great coffee, good conversations and a chance to meet the people and businesses that make the Waikato such a great region to be part of.

Rosheel is now on the ground in Hamilton and is looking forward to building new relationships, supporting our existing customers and helping more Waikato businesses get their freight moving with Mainstream.

Always great to see the Mainstream story told from the outside. 🖤💛

Thanks to the team at Rock on Trucking NZ for taking the time to sit down with us and find out a little more about where Mainstream came from, where we are today, and where we’re heading.

From a family business started in 1992 to a nationwide freight network, it’s been quite a journey , and there’s plenty more to come.

Great to get out and support ShipZappy at today’s NZ Gift Fair.

Zappy makes shipping simple, bringing multiple courier and freight options together in one easy-to-use platform. And now, Mainstream B2B and palletised freight is available through Zappy, giving businesses an easy way to book larger, heavier and commercial freight across New Zealand.

It was great to meet the Zappy team, see the platform in action and support them at the trade fair. We’re looking forward to working together and helping more NZ businesses find the right freight solution for their needs.

The South Island is putting on a proper winter show!

Some amazing photos from the team this morning as one of our Mainstream trucks takes on some seriously challenging conditions.

With Arthur’s Pass currently closed and further snow forecast, we're expecting some delays into Greymouth, Westport and across the wider West Coast over the coming days.

Our teams are keeping a close eye on conditions and doing everything we can to keep freight moving safely. Sometimes Mother Nature has other plans!

We’re excited to announce that Mainstream now has a depot in Taupō, strengthening our presence in the Central North Island and giving us even greater reach across New Zealand.

This latest addition is another step in the continued growth of the Mainstream network, helping us get closer to our customers and creating more capacity as our freight volumes continue to grow.

Taupō is now part of the Mainstream network.

The Taupō site is just getting started, with Mainstream branding and further improvements coming soon. Watch this space!

Another one joins the Mainstream fleet!

This week we welcomed another brand-new Scania linehaul unit, ready to hit the road and continue strengthening our nationwide network.

Keeping with a long-standing Mainstream tradition, this truck was named by one of our own. Sone’ chose the name Big Boy for our newest addition, and while she couldn’t make the christening herself, she passed the honour on to Melissa, who proudly carried out the ceremony.

Every new truck represents more than just another vehicle on the road , it’s an investment in our people, our capability, and the future growth of the Mainstream network.

Welcome to the fleet, Big Boy (RYH549), keep an eye out for this new addition as it makes its way around Aotearoa, helping us keep freight moving and supporting our customers nationwide!

Auckland Operations Move Complete
This weekend marked a major milestone for Mainstream, with our Auckland operations successfully coming together at our expanded Kiwi Street facility.

This move represents the completion of a significant investment in our Auckland network, transforming the site into a larger, more efficient freight hub designed to support our continued growth and the evolving needs of our customers.

The expansion of Kiwi Street has created additional capacity, including an extra 6,000sqm of metro space, allowing us to bring together our Bell Avenue and Kiwi Street operations under one roof.

By consolidating our metro and linehaul operations onto a single site, we have removed the complexities of operating across multiple locations and created a more connected, efficient, and collaborative way of working.

The development also includes a new 5,000sqm container park, complete with refrigerated container capability, further strengthening our Auckland operations and supporting future growth.

This milestone is more than just a move , it reflects Mainstream’s ongoing commitment to investing in our people, our facilities, and our network. It provides a stronger foundation for our teams and allows us to continue delivering reliable freight solutions for our customers.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in planning and delivering this transition. Moving an operational freight network while keeping customers moving is a significant achievement, and the teamwork, dedication, and effort shown throughout has been outstanding.

Auckland is now operating as one connected team, from one purpose-built hub — and we’re excited about what this next chapter means for Mainstream.

Depot Update – Palmerston North

A huge milestone for Mainstream Palmerston North , and one we’re excited to celebrate.

Over the past several months, our Palmerston North team has been operating from 16 Downing Street while our facility at 18 Setters Line underwent a major extension.

That work is now complete, with the depot extended by 40 metres, creating an impressive 80-metre-long twin tunnel freight depot.

This is a significant investment in our Palmerston North operation and reflects Mainstream’s continued growth and commitment to providing our customers with the capacity, capability, and service they need as we continue to grow.

The team has now moved back into our newly transformed home , proudly named ‘Chalk Way’.

So, when you hear us referring to Chalk Way, that’s our Palmerston North depot.

This is more than just an extension, it’s a celebration of progress, growth, and the future of Mainstream. We’re incredibly proud of what has been achieved and excited about what comes next.

A big shout-out to everyone involved in delivering this milestone and helping make this next chapter possible.

⚠️ South Island Weather Service Update ⚠️

Our South Island network continues to be impacted by severe weather.

Heavy rainfall has caused flooding and road closures through the Kaikōura region, with sections of State Highway 1 sustaining significant damage. Further heavy rain and snow are also forecast for parts of the South Island, which may continue to impact freight movements.

To keep freight moving, we have redirected freight via the inland state highway network. While this allows services to continue, customers should expect extended transit times.

Cook Strait conditions are also affecting services, with ferry cancellations and the possibility of further disruptions due to forecast swells. This may result in additional delays for freight travelling between the North and South Islands.

Our Operations team is working closely with NZTA, ferry operators, and our nationwide branch network to minimise disruption wherever possible.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this significant weather event. We will continue to provide updates as the situation develops.

Another great day out with the Mainstream coffee cart

This time it was all about getting face-to-face with our customers and their teams , taking a break from the usual emails and calls to have some real conversations on site.

With fresh coffee, muffins and slushies on hand, it made for a great chance to connect, catch up, and spend some time with the people behind the day-to-day operations.

Getting out on site like this helps us stay connected to our customers and what matters most to them , and that’s what drives everything we do.
