WE’RE HIRING – FULL-TIME DRILL OPERATOR

We’re looking for an experienced operator to join the team at Quigley Contracting in Mid Canterbury.

This is a full-time, year-round position with a strong focus on drilling and cultivation work throughout the season. You’ll spend the majority of your time behind the wheel of modern, late-model tractors, and operating our Väderstad Spirit or Horizon DSX drill, along with a range of other cultivation and contracting equipment.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys being trusted to get on with the job. You’ll need to be self-driven, take pride in producing quality work, and be comfortable taking responsibility for the machinery you operate. Keeping gear clean, well maintained and presented to a high standard is a big part of how we operate.

While drilling will be the main focus of the role, there’s plenty of variety throughout the year, with opportunities to get involved in cultivation, slurry and muck application, and other general agricultural contracting work.

Maintenance & Asset Technician - Role Available

At Quigley Contracting, we're proud to be a locally owned business that's built on hard work, quality people, and looking after our gear. As we continue to grow, we're looking for someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in their work, and likes getting stuck into a bit of everything.
No two days are the same in this role. One day you might be repairing a shed, the next installing equipment into a brand-new machine, pouring concrete, or helping tidy up machinery ready for sale. If you're someone who enjoys solving problems and keeping things running, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
Your work will include a wide range of tasks across our yards and workshops, including:
• General yard and property maintenance and upkeep
• Repairs and improvements to sheds, buildings and facilities
• Concrete work, plumbing, drainage and landscaping work
• Operating diggers, mowers, loaders and other machinery
• General plumbing and maintenance repairs
• Servicing and maintaining mowers, forklifts and motorbikes
• Fencing and property improvements
• Supporting our workshop team during quieter periods
• Installing safety equipment, cameras and technology into new machinery
• Preparing machinery for sale, including cleaning, presentation and listing
• Occasional truck driving or machinery operation when required
About you
We're looking for someone who is:
• Practical and mechanically minded
• A self-starter who can work independently
• Happy turning their hand to a wide variety of jobs
• Takes pride in producing quality work
• Comfortable operating machinery or willing to learn
• Organised, reliable and able to see jobs through to completion
• Holds a current driver's licence (Class 2 or higher would be an advantage)
Experience in building, farming, contracting, mechanical repairs, maintenance or construction would all be valuable, but attitude is just as important as experience.
