After celebrating Gold in Community Partnership of the Year, we have more good news to share. Our founder, Shiva Dhakal, has won Silver in Individual Changemaker of the Year at the 2026 Global Good Awards in London! 🥈
His vision that travel within the country should be more inclusive, community driven and sustainable led to him launching the social enterprise, Community Homestay Network in 2017. In 2017, that belief became Community Homestay Network, and since then it has touched the lives of more than 2,000 people.
That impact has rippled through rural communities. We've seen 800+ women entrepreneurs grow, young people find work close to home instead of leaving for the city, and Indigenous cultures thrive. This is what tourism can look like when it truly works for communities.

Thank you also to the Global Good Awards team and jury for recognising our work and holding us up as a good example for others in the sector.
Two awards in one week have given our whole team a real boost. Moments like these keep us going and remind us why we do what we do. And as always, this belongs to our host communities across Nepal, whose trust and partnership are the foundation of everything.
