Advancing Academic Excellence in Transportation Engineering! 🛣️🎓

​We are thrilled to announce the successful conclusion of our collaborative workshop, "Thematic Synthesis of Transportation Engineering Research in Nepal", organized alongside Safe and Sustainable Travel, with the valuable support of Sajha Yatayat and the South Asia Center. Aimed at orienting final-year engineering students within the local journal publication landscape, the session featured a comprehensive synthesis of 160 research papers categorized into 10 key focus areas. The event bridged theory and real-world scenarios thanks to the insightful deliberations delivered by Vibek Gupta, Ashu Pokhrel, Ashim Gautam, Samiksha Adhikari, and Sudeep Thapa, alongside inspiring guidance from senior experts Saroj Pradhan, Hemant Tiwari, Hare Ram Shreshta, and Mohan Dhoj KC.

​This milestone wouldn't have been possible without the dedication of our incredible team. Huge appreciation goes to research assistant Rohan Devkota for the rigorous paper reviews and slide preparation, supported by Tirtha Raj Joshi, as well as Samridhi Singh for hosting the program and Sneha KC for seamless administrative ex*****on.

Multistakeholder Consultation & Engagement Meet-Up.

​SOTEN recently joined hands with SCAEF Nepal, MCA Nepal, and Road Board Nepal for a collaborative consultation focused on improving road management and maintenance practices across Nepal.
​Key areas of discussion included:
​Capacity Development: Focus on modern pavement materials, technologies, design methodologies, and resource capacities.
​Data-Driven Management: Implementing performance indicators like IRI and SDI, traffic volume tracking, and advanced asset management systems.

​Future Planning: Preparations for an upcoming Executive Workshop to integrate innovative maintenance technologies and international best practices.

​Together, we are working towards a more sustainable, resilient, and efficient road infrastructure for Nepal! 🏗️🛣️

An MoU has been signed with Safe and Sustainable Travel Nepal - SSTN to extend support and guidance to engineering students to explore knowledge, research and publication in transport sector in a integrated way.

The MoU marks the start of a collaborative and structured support to the final year students aspiring to take on research project and connect them with the industry.

We look forward to more interaction and engagement with academia and institutions in the transport industry in Nepal.
