Mt.Annapurna I
is the 10th highest peak in the world, standing at 8,091 meters (26,545 feet) above sea level. Located in the Himalayas of Nepal, it was first summited on June 3, 1950, by a French expedition led by Maurice Herzog and Louis Lachenal. The ascent, however, was marred by challenges and hardships.
