Nepal trekking is not just about walking in the mountains, it is about experiencing life in its rawest form.

Most people think trekking in Nepal is only about Everest or Annapurna, but there is so much more hidden beauty like remote villages, ancient trails, Buddhist monasteries, and untouched valleys where time feels slow.

What many don’t know is that every trek in Nepal feels different. In some places you walk through dense rhododendron forests, in others you cross suspension bridges above deep rivers, and higher up you reach landscapes that look like another planet.

Tea house trekking is a unique experience here. You don’t need luxury hotels because simple mountain lodges offer warm meals, local hospitality, and stories from people who live in the Himalayas.

Altitude is the real challenge, not distance. Even short treks can feel tough if you don’t go slow and acclimatize properly.

Nepal is not just a destination for adventure, it is also a place for peace seekers, nature lovers, and those who want to disconnect from busy life and reconnect with themselves.

Let Himalayan Trekking and Tours help you explore the Himalayas safely and deeply.

Going to Mardi Himal Base Camp in snowfall can be quite slippery and even risky if you’re not prepared. The final stretch (High Camp → Base Camp) is especially exposed, steep, and often icy.

Here’s how to handle it safely:

❄️ Why it gets dangerous

* Fresh snow hides the actual trail → easy to step on loose edges
* Packed snow turns into ice, especially in the morning
* Narrow ridge sections → slipping can be serious, not just a small fall

🥾 Must-do precautions in snow

1. Use proper traction (very important)

* Carry microspikes or crampons → this is the #1 safety upgrade
* Without them, even good boots can slip on ice

2. Trekking poles = balance

* Always use 2 poles for stability
* Plant poles firmly before each step

3. Walk technique

* Take slow, flat-footed steps (don’t step on toes only)
* Slightly bend knees for better grip
* On steep icy parts, walk sideways or zig-zag

Nepal Trekking Permit Update 2026 | Himalayan Trekking & Tours

Nepal has introduced an important update in the Restricted Area Permit (RAP) system for 2026. This new rule is designed to make trekking in Nepal more accessible while still maintaining safety, culture, and environmental protection in the Himalayas.

Now, solo trekkers can apply for Restricted Area Permits through a registered trekking agency. However, a licensed guide is still mandatory in all restricted regions to ensure safety and a smooth trekking experience.

This update applies to major restricted trekking regions such as Manaslu, Upper Mustang, Dolpo, Kanchenjunga, Tsum Valley, and Nar-Phu Valley.

At Himalayan Trekking & Tours, we see this as a positive step for Nepal tourism. It opens more opportunities for trekkers while keeping responsible tourism at the center.

If you are planning your next adventure in Nepal, we are here to assist you with permits, guides, and complete trekking arrangements.

Choosing between the Everest Base Camp Trek and the Manaslu Circuit Trek is not easy. Both offer incredible experiences, but each journey feels completely different.

The Everest Base Camp Trek takes you to the foot of the world’s highest peak, Mount Everest. It is one of the most popular treks in Nepal, known for its well-developed trails, vibrant Sherpa culture, and iconic views from places like Kala Patthar. This trek is perfect if you want a classic Himalayan experience with comfortable tea houses and a lively trekking atmosphere.

On the other hand, the Manaslu Circuit Trek circles around Mount Manaslu, offering a more remote and peaceful adventure. The trail passes through traditional villages, deep valleys, and high mountain passes like Larkya La (5,106 m). It is ideal for those who want to explore untouched beauty and experience raw Himalayan culture away from the crowds.

When it comes to permits, Everest requires the Sagarmatha National Park Permit and Khumbu Rural Municipality Permit, while Manaslu requires a Restricted Area Permit along with ACAP and MCAP. These differences make each trek unique not just in experience, but also in planning.

Both treks offer stunning mountain views, rich culture, and unforgettable memories. The choice depends on what kind of journey you are looking for—popular and iconic, or remote and off the beaten path.

Let us help you plan your perfect Himalayan adventure.
