What if a motorcycle could transform lives?
In Nepal, Alison witnessed a mother entrusting her sick son to a stranger on a motorcycle to get him to the doctor. That moment sparked a realization: riding goes well beyond having a hobbie-it's a lifeline.

Growing up around motorcycles in Europe, Alison took her riding skills for granted. But across many parts of the world, women still face social stigma and barriers to getting on two wheels. Through FreeW, she's changing that.

By joining a FreeW motorcycle tour, you're not only exploring incredible destinations across Asia—you're helping fund training and scooters for women, creating opportunities for self-empowerment, social and economic mobility.

Want to support women's liberation and economic empowerment through motorcycling? Ride with us!

Raised alongside two brothers in the Philippines, Arem first learned to ride when her family bought an extra motorcycle so she could commute independently. What began as a practical solution soon grew into a lifelong passion.

Today, she rides a KTM Duke on the winding roads of Davao, dreams of owning a Yamaha R6, and is helping build a stronger community of women riders in the Philippines.

While there are many women who ride, finding fellow adventurers with similar travel goals can be a challenge. Through The Litas and other riding communities, Arem has found her tribe and hopes to welcome more women into the world of motorcycling.

In this interview, Arem shares why riding is more than just a hobby. For her, it's empowering, eye-opening, and deeply disciplining.

If you're a lady rider, or an aspiring one, in the Philippines, this story is for you. 🏍️🇵🇭

Adventure doesn’t stop for periods, discomfort, or difficult road conditions.

Women riders have always adapted, prepared, and found ways to keep going, whether it’s through better gear, smarter packing, or learning what our bodies need on long riding days.

From portable bidets to menstrual products, hydration packs to anti-chafe cream… these aren’t “extra” items. They’re tools that help us ride farther, safer, and more comfortably.

Because confidence on the road isn’t about pretending discomfort doesn’t exist.
It’s about being prepared enough that it doesn’t stop you from exploring the world.

The more women openly share these conversations, the easier we make adventure riding for the next woman starting her journey.

This year at the festival, Alison Grun () of .co takes the stage not just as a rider, but as a change-maker who has turned riding in Asia into stories of courage and impact through FreeW.

Because riding was never only about the destination. It’s about the moment you choose yourself. The moment fear turns into fuel. The moment “I can’t” becomes “watch me.” Across every mile, women are proving that two wheels can carry independence, confidence, and change.
