World-renowned Nepali mountaineer Nirmal "Nims" Purja and his climbing team have reportedly been involved in a major accident while attempting to summit the 8,047-meter Broad Peak in Pakistan's Karakoram mountain range.

According to reports, a massive avalanche struck unexpectedly while the team was making its way toward the summit, resulting in the loss of contact with Nims Purja and nine other climbers.

The Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) stated that the incident occurred on Friday afternoon. Although search and rescue operations were launched immediately, authorities have so far been unable to establish contact with any members of the team. The incident has raised serious concern throughout the international mountaineering community.

According to preliminary information, the expedition team included Nirmal "Nims" Purja, five Nepali climbers, Sohail Sakhi from Hunza, Pakistan, Nathira from Oman, American climber Mallory Gais, Chinese climber Wang, and another foreign climber.
