They call today National Heroes Day. Some of those heroes are 10,000 miles from home, wearing orange coveralls instead of a cape.

While families gather, they stand watch. While the country sleeps, they keep working. They miss birthdays, Christmas mornings, weddings, and countless ordinary moments that most of us never have to think twice about.

They cross oceans so ships can move, cargo can arrive, businesses can operate, and families back home can keep going.

No parade. No medal. No cheering crowd.

Just another watch, another night at sea, another quiet sacrifice.

To every Filipino seafarer spending National Heroes Day aboard a ship, far from the people you love, this day belongs to you too.

You may not make the headlines, but your work keeps an island nation connected to the world.
