Visiting Rotterdam & Amsterdam:
Last week we stepped out of the office and into the ports where Wilson’s operations take place every day.
Aurora (Operator), Martin (Agency) and Sebastian (Communications) spent the week visiting Rotterdam and Amsterdam to gain operational insight and a closer understanding of two key ports where Wilson vessels frequently operate.
In the Port of Rotterdam – Europe’s largest port – we visited several Wilson vessels, including Wilson Grip, Wilson Nice, Jumbo and Wilson Cork. Seeing the vessels alongside the terminals provided valuable insight into the daily operations on board and the interaction between ships, terminals and port logistics.
Midweek we continued to the Port of Amsterdam, where we visited VCK’s operations at Waterland Terminal and got a closer look at cargo handling, storage and logistics in one of Europe’s important bulk hubs.
Back in Rotterdam, we also visited Thebe, Wilson Twisteden and Wilson Lahn, and had the opportunity to observe a bunker survey carried out by Quint — an interesting look into the verification process during bunkering operations.
Visits like these are a great reminder of the scale and complexity behind the logistics chains our vessels are part of every single day.
A big thank you to Robert Bravenboer, Kevin Verlaan, Robert Tak and the rest of our colleagues in Rotterdam (Wilson Agency B.V) for the warm welcome.
And a special thanks to all our colleagues at sea – thank you for your time, the conversations and the great moments we shared on board.
