For the first time, Scantrol Deep Vision AS are showing a live CamSounder demo at Nor-Fishing 2026, using AI to detect shrimp, bycatch and size categories from images in the trawl, and turning that into real-time catch insight for the fisher.

Shrimp is our first commercial case, but the same method is already being developed for other species and fisheries.

We are at Nor-Fishing 2026 in Trondheim this week.

Good conversations so far with skippers, vessel owners and fellow suppliers about trawl automation, catch efficiency and sustainable fishery.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jan Hallvard Kjærstad as the new CEO of Scantrol 🎉

His relationship with Scantrol goes back to the early 1990s, when he first became a customer during upgrades of trawl winch control systems. Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles across the maritime industry, most recently serving ten years as Head of Sales at Seaonics AS.

Having served as Acting CEO since February, Jan has already demonstrated strong leadership and a clear vision for the company's future.

"I have known Scantrol for many years and have always been impressed by the company's technology, people, and customer focus. I look forward to working together with our employees to continue developing the company and building on the strong position and success that Scantrol has already achieved," said Jan Kjærstad.

We are excited for this next chapter and look forward to continuing our journey together under Jan's leadership.

Another successful fishing delivery, SYM 7 deployed on Bernt Oscar.

Scantrol has recently delivered a SYM 7 Autotrawl system with Flyshoot and Purse Seine functionality to MacGregor for installation on the new Norwegian pelagic vessel Bernt Oscar built by Danish shipyard Vestværftet ApS.

The system includes:

✔ SYM 7 Autotrawl configured for MacGregor trawl winches

✔ Integrated BlueCon wire spooling control with SYM7 menus

✔ Over-The-Air Assistance for remote support

This delivery ensures operators benefit from:

- Precise gear control

- Improved catch efficiency and economy

- Reduced fuel consumption and wear

- With more than 700 Autotrawl systems installed worldwide, Scantrol continues to set the standard for control systems in the commercial fishery segment.
