Today, G2 Ocean launches Emission Reduction Certificates — a new service that enables cargo owners and transport buyers to address Scope 3 transport emissions through verified emission reductions generated from the use of biofuel in our operations.

The service is available to any company with transport-related Scope 3 emissions and does not require cargo to be carried on specific low-emission G2 Ocean voyages.

Revenue from certificate sales will be reinvested in new biofuel voyages, helping support further emission reductions in maritime transport.

“Supply chain decarbonisation requires practical and flexible solutions. With our new service, Emission Reduction Certificates, cargo owners can take immediate action to reduce their transport emissions while supporting the increased use of lower-emission fuels,” says Arthur English, Chief Executive Officer at G2 Ocean.

Newbuild alert!🚨 We are excited to announce that G2 Ocean is strengthening its fleet by adding six new open hatch gantry crane vessels and equipping our current vessel, Star Kirkenes, with jet sails.

The new vessels, invested by our shareholders and pool participants Gearbulk and Grieg Maritime Group, will be part of a new 65,400 DWT series, with deliveries starting in 2029.

“Through investments in both newbuildings and our existing fleet, G2 Ocean is strengthening its long-term service offering, providing cargo owners with safe, flexible, reliable and sustainable cargo solutions,” says our CEO Arthur English.

With this development, G2 Ocean now has 16 new future-fuel-ready vessels joining the fleet: three delivered in 2026, seven scheduled for delivery in 2026 and 2027, and these six from 2029.

Star Norge, one of our newest vessels, has completed its first pulp loading in Paranaguá, Brazil! "This marks the start of our pulp operations for a new vessel series designed to carry larger cargo volumes more efficiently," says Arthur English, CEO at G2 Ocean.

With a length of 225 metres, dual-fuel engine, a carrying capacity of up to 82,300 tonnes and a crane capacity ranging from 75 to 120 tonnes, Star Norge can carry more cargo per voyage, support operational efficiency, and help reduce fuel consumption and emissions per tonne transported.

On April 10, three of G2 Ocean’s latest 82,300-tonne open hatch vessels – Star Nordkapp, Star Narvik and Star Naga – were officially named at the CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Longxue yard in Nansha, China🚢✨

These vessels are the largest and most energy-efficient additions to our fleet, representing an important step forward in our long-term fleet renewal programme.

We look forward to serving our customers with these vessels, delivering on their needs and expectations🤝

📈 USD 1.158 billion in total revenue
🚢 21.1 million revenue tons of cargo transported to 48 countries
⬇️ 2.3% reduction in the carbon intensity of our nominated fleet compared to 2024
⛽ 31% rise in biofuel usage compared to 2024
❤️ Zero recordable accidents among our workforce, and a reduction of stevedore injuries by more than 50% since 2022

Yesterday, we had the privilege of hosting His Royal Highness Crown Prince Haakon of Norway at our Bergen office, where he engaged with members of our Board, leadership and team. Discussions focused on the evolving landscape of international shipping, including Norway’s unique strengths as a maritime nation, as well as safety, sustainability and digitalisation. A memorable day for our team!
