Another memorable experience at this year’s IFAT in Munich. Our WPTeam members Jan Meijberg, Holger Schneider, and Natalie Notzon spent the day exploring the latest trends and innovations in environmental technology, meeting new people, and discovering fresh ideas from across the industry.

It was a great opportunity to connect, learn, and get inspired by everything happening in the sector. We’re coming back with new insights, fresh energy, and plenty of inspiration for the months ahead. ♻️💡

Today we celebrate Olga Sikorskaya 12,5 year milestone at Waste Paper Trade C.V.! 🎉

Olga has been a true driving force behind WPT’s growth, contributing not only with her expertise but also with her dedication. Over the years, she has played an important role in shaping where we are today and continues to make an impact every day.

A message from Olga:

"Time really flies — 12.5 years already.

What started as something temporary became a big part of my life. Along the way, colleagues became more than colleagues — many of you feel like family.

One thing I’ve always loved about WPT is how small the world feels. Working daily with people from Poland, Denmark, France and beyond is something special, and I wouldn’t change that.

I could name many people I’m grateful to — but you know who you are.

Over the years we’ve built things I’m proud of, and seen some disappear as the world around us changed. Not always easy, but that’s WPT: dynamic, challenging and never standing still. Every day is different, and that’s what keeps me going.

I truly believe we’ll continue to build great things together.

Grateful for the journey so far — and looking forward to what’s next."

Did you know we’ve achieved the EcoVadis Committed Badge?

This means Waste Paper Trade C.V. has successfully completed the EcoVadis assessment and shown that we have solid systems in place to support sustainability, in line with the EcoVadis methodology.

The assessment looks at four key areas: environment, labour & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

Achieving the Committed Badge shows that we’re taking a proactive approach to improving our ESG performance. We know there’s still more to do, but we’re committed to making continuous progress and being more mindful of our impact and sustainability.

The UN’s International Women’s Day on 8th March focuses on the theme ‘Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls’.

Today we recognise the women across our industry and beyond whose expertise, leadership, and dedication help move the circular economy forward.

Although progress has been made, global data shows there is still more to do. Women earn about 20% less than men globally, on average.

Only around half of working-age women participate in the global labour force, compared with higher participation among men.

Women receive about 28% of global income, despite contributing significantly to both paid and unpaid work worldwide.

In industries like recycling, where logistics, global trade, and sustainability come together, progress depends on diverse perspectives, equal opportunities, and inclusive workplaces.

Because building a sustainable future also means building a fair and inclusive one.

This week, we say goodbye to our IT intern, Arjan. Over the past five months, Arjan has been a great support to our IT department, working on our internal IT environment and assisting colleagues with their devices, helping to keep everything running smoothly.
