De Slagwerkgarage Voor alles op gebied van slagwerk! Reparatie en revisie, nieuwe en gebruikte instrumenten en advies op maat.

Een vertrouwd adres voor al uw vragen op gebied van slagwerk! De Slagwerkgarage is op 1 maart 2010 gestart door Ron van Vuuren en Gijsbert van Rijswijk. Samen zijn de heren goed voor meer dan 55 jaar slagwerkervaring in het verenigingsleven. Door de combinatie van de technische opleiding van Ron, de commerciële opleiding van Gijsbert en de gezamenlijke interesse voor de HaFaBra-wereld, is het idee

voor De Slagwerkgarage ontstaan. De Slagwerkgarage repareert, reviseert, onderhoudt en verkoopt slagwerkinstrumenten voor verenigingen en particulieren. Onderhoud en reparatie doet De Slagwerkgarage in de werkplaats, maar indien gewenst kan dit ook op locatie worden uitgevoerd. De Slagwerkgarage heeft een breed aanbod aan nieuwe en gebruikte slagwerkinstrumenten en toebehoren. In de showroom zijn de instrumenten te bezichtigen en te proberen. Het is ook mogelijk dat De Slagwerkgarage de instrumenten op locatie komt demonstreren met daarbij horend advies.

During the last days of 2025, we felt a bit lika Santa...
Theun van Nieuwburg expressed a wish, to have a set of Adams Philharmonic Light timpani for his timpani class at the
Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag - Royal Conservatoire The Hague.

Sooner than we all could hope, we found not 4, but 5 young and well maintained timpani. Even in 'american' setup, a joy for the international students.

And as for the start of this year....

We just relocated our workshop to a bigger building. More space, leading to more stock and more space to work.

Next week we will design the interieur and set up all our tools.

A happy new year to all, but especially to our fellow timpani nerds!

We ended 2025 on a high note. The Dresdner Apparatebau kurbel pauken have been delivered to Rotterdam.
It was an honour to restore and sell this set to Van Het Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest.
We also thank Danny Van de Wal and Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest for the pleasant cooperation.

For 2026 we have some cool news, beautiful 'new' timpani and a lot of plans. Stay tuned and follow us for more information. Please feel free to reach out for questions or if you need something!

on the last few days of this season, we would like to give a shout out to rotary timpani. We have a few sets with that system in stock and we believe they are under-valued.

Especially the ones made by GJ Wunderlich are very nice. They sound great! And with a little experience, one can easily learn to use this system without any drawbacks.

Just before we lost Marinus Komst, he also restored a cool set of rotary timpani. as you can still see on his page. (even in his profile picture)

Adrian Bending - musician and Tom Greenleaves visited the timpani museum in Leipzig and spoke out about the Wunderlich rotary timpani. You can see it in their video on Youtube from 38 min to 41.30 min.

We do have 2 of those sets in stock, aswell as 2 other types made by Wunderlich, and some Dutch copies also...
(btw - we also have the Wunderlich berlin pedal timpani, like Tom speaks about on minute 41.30 to 44)

Fun Fact; Bart van Grinsven plays his set of Dutch rotary timpani (copy of Wunderlich) at Phion, for some romantic programs.

Today we went to De Concertgebouw to say goodbye to Marinus Komst .
A great ceremony, celebrating his life and how he lived it. Followed by a nice glas of wine and some good conversation with fellow timpani nerds...
Resembling a flower, we brought timpani mallet.

It was an honour to share the passion of old timpani with Marinus!

Today we completed a very cool project. We delivered a set of Poschardt timpani to Paris, wich we restored to the wishes of our cliënt.

All new: paint, nickle, fleshhoops, claws, Kalfo heads, Sonnberg heads, transport carts.
And a set of occasion flightcases.
