In regards to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to give you an update on the latest developments at Schiphol Airport.
Negative rapid antigen-test mandatory per January 23rd 2021 0:01 LT
In addition to the mandatory negative PCR-test results, the test-declaration, the health declaration the government adds a mandatory COVID-19 negative rapid antigen-test to the spectrum of test that need to be carried out for air travel to The Netherlands. This test is also mandatory for transfer/transit passengers and does not exclude crew (unless crew does not disembark the aircraft in The Netherlands).
The COVID-19 rapid antigen-test must performed within 4 hours prior to departure.
Passenger and/or crew arriving in The Netherlands after 0:01 LT on Saturday, January 23rd 2021, need to be able to show a negative test results of the COVID-19 rapid antigen-test. Failure to provide these negative test results, will result in the passenger being denied to enter The Netherlands and may result in a fine for the airline.
Flight restrictions for countries with mutant varieties of COVID-19
As several mutant varieties of COVID-19 are adding additional risk to the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the Dutch government imposes additional flight restrictions for flights from the following countries per Saturday, January 23rd 2021
- The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Nothern Ireland
- The Federative Republic of Brazil
- The Argentine Republic
- The Plurinational State of Bolivia
- The Republic of Cabo Verde
- The Republic of Chile
- The Republic of Colombia
- The Republic of Ecuador
- French Guian
- The Co-operative Republic of Guyana
- The Republic of Panama
- The Republic of Paraguay
- The Republic of Peru
- The Republic of Suriname
- The Oriental Republic of Uruguay
- The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
The restrictions only implicate passenger flights and the same exemptions as were communicated per March 2020 apply. The Government will apply stricter regulations in regards to exempted categories. What these regulations entail is unclear at this point. We will inform you accordingly when more information becomes available.
Night Curfew per Saturday, January 23rd from 21:00 LT to 04:30 LT
The Dutch government plans to impose a night curfew per Saturday, January 23rd 2021 from 21:00 LT. The night curfew applies daily between 21:00 LT and 04:30 LT.
