Today, on Professional Engineers Day, we're putting the spotlight on our Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. ✈️🔧

They play a key role in getting our aircraft safely and on time ready for their next flight. Working both in the hangars and on the line, they inspect, maintain and modify aircraft, while also guiding technicians and keeping a close eye on the entire maintenance process.

They’re also responsible for the final decision: with a Certificate of Release to Service, they confirm that an aircraft is safe to return to the skies.

From the latest Airbus and Boeing aircraft to the newest aviation technologies, no two days are the same. 💙

As Pride comes to a close, we're ending with Huub's story. 🏳️‍🌈💙

As a Purser, Huub found more than a career at KLM. From the moment he put on the uniform, he knew he had found a place where he truly belonged. Surrounded by colleagues who supported and encouraged him, he found the confidence to be himself.

As Huub says:

Today, we're sharing Maarten's story. Before becoming Country Director Mexico, he started his journey at KLM as a trainee. Stepping into the technical environment of Hangar 11 challenged him, but it also showed him that respect starts with being yourself.

As Maarten says:
"When you treat people with respect, they treat you with respect. My sexual orientation never mattered. I could simply be myself."
