🏗️ Construction Update | ROLLBARGE 2 & 3

Construction of our two new heavy-duty deck barges in Indonesia, in collaboration with Vallianz Offshore Marine, continues to take shape.

RollBarge 2
🌊The hull has now been formed, marking another important milestone in the build. Application of the internal tank coating is ongoing as construction progresses.

RollBarge 3
🌊Approximately 80% of the bottom panel fabrication has been completed, while fabrication of the bulkheads, side shell and main deck panels is progressing in preparation for its first project, starting in early 2027.

Built to DNV classification standards, both barges measure 85.2 metres in length and 27.4 metres in beam, with approximately 9,350 tonnes of deadweight capacity and a flat deck designed for loads of up to 20 tonnes per square metre.

Once completed, RollBarge 2 and 3 will further strengthen our fleet and our ability to provide reliable, engineered transport solutions for heavy modules and oversized project cargo — in Asia, the Middle East and across the globe.

🏆 Heavy Lift Awards 2026 Shortlist | Project of the Year

When conventional logistics couldn't deliver, our teams engineered a new way forward.

For Kenmare Resources, Roll Group transported two 1,160-tonne Cutter Suction Dredgers from the Netherlands to one of the most remote mining operations in Mozambique.

Without suitable port infrastructure, the project required a fully integrated solution—from ocean transport and offshore float-off operations to beach landing and SPMT transport to the final destination.

🏆 Shortlisted for Excellence in Engineering

One of our four Heavy Lift Awards 2026 shortlist nominations recognises what drives every project we deliver: engineering excellence.

Today, we're putting the spotlight on our nomination for the Excellence in Engineering Award.

For the Viva Energy ULSG Project in Australia, our engineers developed RollBarge 1—a purpose-built shallow-draft barge that enabled the safe delivery of modules weighing up to 1,000 tonnes to a location where conventional heavy transport methods simply weren't possible.

The innovative solution eliminated heavy crane lifts, avoided dredging and major port modifications, and ensured all eight modules were delivered safely and on schedule.

A fantastic achievement made possible by the dedication and expertise of our people and partners. Congratulations to everyone involved! 🥂

Project Highlight: 11,000-ton topside load-out at Saipem Karimun Yard

Roll Group successfully executed the weighing and load-out of an 11,000-ton topside module in Indonesia, utilizing 362 axle lines of SPMTs, 15 PPUs, hydraulic jacks, and high-precision load cells.

• 11,000-ton topside module

• Hydraulic jacks ranging from 400 t to 750 t
• Custom-engineered transport configuration

The project's complexity stemmed from the combination of the module's weight, structural geometry, and restricted space available for equipment positioning. Through detailed engineering and careful ex*****on, Roll Group delivered a transport solution that met all operational requirements safely and efficiently.

This successful project demonstrated the strength of combining specialized equipment, engineering expertise, and experienced ex*****on teams to deliver complex heavy transport operations worldwide.
