Tallship Thalassa

Onze afstudeerstagiaire bij Tall Ship Thalassa voert momenteel een interessant onderzoek uit naar Generatie X en hoe deze groep ons bedrijf ziet. Het doel van het onderzoek is om beter inzicht te krijgen in de wensen, verwachtingen en percepties van deze doelgroep, zodat we onze communicatie en dienstverlening verder kunnen verbeteren.

We waarderen alle input en ervaringen die mensen uit ons netwerk kunnen delen, en hopen zo een breder beeld te krijgen van hoe Generatie X tegen ons bedrijf aankijkt.

Le Havre, Dunkirk, Aberdeen, Kristiansand and now Esbjerg. We sailed from France to Scotland to Norway and Denmark. ⛵🌍

A month of sail training with young people, including a week with young and (g)old. 🥇🎓 Exchanging cultures, sharing experiences and learning from each other. 💡🤝

Next up: the adventurous journey (Mijlenmaker) to Bremerhaven.

Yesterday we left for Scotland. Looking back at a productive last week of maintenance aboard. From a fully stocked fridge to a freshly painted ship and everything in between. 🧀🥒🖌🎨 In seemingly impossible and bended positions, everything was put in place 🙆🧘‍♀️

From School at Sea to repair and maintenance ashore. The ship is undergoing some TLC these last few weeks, and so is the crew. After six months of hard work it is time for some more hard work, but also the needful relax & unwind ⚓💪🧘‍♂️🍻

After a visit to the shipyard in Den Oever, Thalassa can be spotted back in home port Harlingen ⛓⛵

This weekend was the last weekend for the School at Sea students of 24/25. After a farewell evening on the Wadden Sea, the students said goodbye to each other, the teachers, the crew and of course their beloved ship, a home for half a year. The traditional destination-printed hoodie brought relief to the emotional rollercoaster of hugs, shared memories and seeing their loved ones again ⛵🌅🎢💞

How enriching these last few weeks from the Azores have been. From a museum on whaling to scrimshaw on soaps and, of course, the traditional Horta wharf drawing. Since then, it has been almost 3 weeks of sailing, multiple ship takeovers and challenging weather. The result: the School at Sea students are more connected than ever 🧼🎨⛵⚓

Now that we're anchored in Portobelo for a day already, we look back on a magical Guna Yala stay at paradise island Ucgubya. Back on board after two survival nights and the SaS-traditional beach clean up, we prepared for a special party 🎉💃🕺

Making memories and celebrating the love of Wessel & Chantal (they got engaged on Dominica!)💍, having a goodbye party for them and chef Jelle and just having the best time 👨‍🍳 It's almost time for the 'eigen reis', when the SaS students make their own journey on land for a couple of days 🚌
