No really, it's not Shipko 33.

We hear it regularly. The outline behind our logo is often mistaken for the number 33. In reality, these are two ship bows forming our logo. A connection to the maritime world in which we are active every day.

And since we're curious anyway... What did you see the first time? Two ship bows or the number 33?

When the cook of one of our customers asked if we could do something for the Zeekadetkorps Maassluis, we didn't have to think twice.

We provided this youthful corps with a supply of provisions so that the sea cadets remain fit and energetic during their summer camp.

The Zeekadetkorps Maassluis introduces young people to life on board a ship in a unique way. From navigation and technology to teamwork, taking responsibility, and leadership. Skills that will benefit them throughout their lives and, hopefully, mark the beginning of a future in the maritime sector.

It is wonderful to be able to contribute to the next generation of maritime professionals in this way, together with our clients.

We wish all the sea cadets a fantastic and educational summer camp!

"Als aan het einde van de dag de orderbox leeg is en de klant tevreden is, dan ga ik met een voldaan gevoel naar huis." - Esther Vis

Sinds maart dit jaar maakt Esther deel uit van het team als Order Manager. In haar rol zorgt ze er samen met haar collega's voor dat orders correct worden verwerkt en precies op tijd aan boord komen. Van spoedleveringen die binnen een dag geregeld moeten zijn tot complete containers vol proviand voor grote zeeschepen.

Geen dag is hetzelfde en juist die dynamiek geeft haar energie. "Hoe meer er tegelijk speelt, hoe leuker ik het vind." Dat ze een order van begin tot eind zelf begeleidt, maakt het werk voor haar extra uitdagend en afwisselend.

Wat Esther misschien nog wel het meest waardeert, is de sfeer binnen Shipko. "Iedereen staat voor elkaar klaar. Er is geen vraag te veel en je merkt dat collega's elkaar echt helpen. Ik ben in een warm bad terechtgekomen."

Volgens Esther onderscheidt Shipko zich door de persoonlijke betrokkenheid. Er wordt niet alleen meegedacht met klanten, maar ook met elkaar. Het doel is uiteindelijk altijd hetzelfde: zorgen dat klanten zich gehoord voelen en met vertrouwen verder kunnen.

Dat is precies waar Shipko voor staat.

Today on June 25th, it's the Day of the Seafarer.

A day of the year when the world reflects on the dedicated crews who, through their efforts, make international shipping possible.

From our warehouse near the Port of Rotterdam, Shipko supports seafarers by delivering ship chandlery in all ports in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Spain, Norway, Denmark, and Germany. By collaborating with fellow ship chandlers for deliveries in other parts of Europe and the rest of the world, crews can count on what they need when it comes to food and non-food, owners’ parts and even catering.

On behalf of the Shipko crew, we express our appreciation for all seafarers who make the work at sea possible every day.
