Exceptional transport in practice

A large Caterpillar excavator like this, is a great example of the exceptional transport we carry out for our customers. Transports like this fall outside standard dimensions and require a different approach than regular road transport.

With this type of transport, it is not just about the journey itself, but primarily about the preparation. Think of determining the correct route, checking bridges and passages, and coordinating any necessary permits and escorts where required. Loading and securing a machine like this also requires specific knowledge to ensure the equipment can be transported stably and safely.

Once everything is prepared, the machine is moved by road to the final destination according to plan.

Semi-low loaders, also referred to as lowboy trailers, are not your average trailer. For DKJ Transport, they are indispensable for specialized transport. They make it possible to efficiently and safely deliver equipment that would otherwise be difficult to move to the correct destination.

An important feature of this type of trailer is that it can be uncoupled. This lowers the loading platform, creating a ramp. The aerial work platform can then drive onto the trailer independently, ensuring controlled and safe loading.

A popular trailer that allows us to safely load and transport high and heavy equipment without the total transport height becoming excessive. This is essential, as many machines, such as aerial work platforms, must remain within legal height and weight limits during transport.

Recently, DKJ Transport delivered two feed mixer wagons to farmers in Norway.

These machines are used for mixing and dispensing animal feed. By precisely combining different feed types, farm animals get the right mix of feed every day.

From Kolding, Denmark to Tarfaya, Morocco. DKJ Transport was responsible for the handling of a long-distance transport for the energy sector. From Northern Europe to the edge of the Sahara.

Recently, we had the privilege of handling a special transport for the energy sector at DKJ Transport. Our drivers departed with two trucks towards Kolding, Denmark to load the cargo and then set course for Tarfaya, Morocco. A journey that took them through completely different worlds. From the beautiful green landscape of Scandinavia to the vast roads of Western Europe, eventually arriving in the rugged, dry terrain of North Africa.

Covering a distance of over 8,800 kilometers and 14 days on the road, this transport had it all. Two friends who are now on their way back to Dordrecht, were responsible for this transport. Doing this together, is a welcome bonus for this type of long-distance transport. And the images we received.....
