Think front office is mainly about welcoming visitors and answering the phone? Although she does it all with a big smile and a cheerful voice, Brenda would probably have something to say about that.
She works closely together with her colleague as a team, making sure the front office runs smoothly every single day. Together they support different departments, handle administrative and facility-related tasks and arrange everything from supplies and bookings to practical matters around the office. They also keep track of the many small things that somehow all need attention. On some mornings, a technician is already waiting, a colleague needs something urgently and a delivery arrives at exactly the same time. That is when the multitasking really starts.
What's behind her friendly welcome is a natural belief to treat people the way you would like to be treated yourself. For her, that means a warm welcome, a cup of coffee or tea, and genuine attention to what someone needs in that moment.
After more than twelve years of being with BTS, Brenda still enjoys the variety. Some days are busy and unpredictable, while others leave time for a conversation with a colleague or visitor. Being able to switch between the two suits her well.
She also admits to being a bit of a perfectionist. If Brenda takes something on, she wants to do it properly. That also explains why her explanations can sometimes become slightly more detailed than planned. Keeping it short, in her own words, is not exactly her strongest skill.
Outside work, she enjoys going for long walks, cycling, good food with her husband, catching up with friends and supporting her favorite football club Sparta Rotterdam, from the stands.
And colleagues in our Dordrecht office get one thing for free every morning: Brendaโs enthusiasm. Even if not everyone is fully awake yet, she certainly is.
