Business Development Manager Ocean Freight Europe

As a senior member of the team, this individual will assume responsibility for all aspects of Ocean Freight in Europe. Main focus will be the development of European Ocean Freight and related activities, in collaboration with the Ocean Freight team in Asia and reporting to the Global Supply Chain Manager Ocean Freight. Main objective is to double the volume from 110TUE to 200TUE the coming period. This position as BDM Ocean Freight Europe is based the e-llis office at Maastricht-Airport in the Netherlands.
Main responsibilities
· developing new customers and maintain relations with existing customers
based in Europe;
· supporting the day-to-day Ocean Freight activities;
· solving problems on ocean freight related to Europe;
· supporting the yearly global tender negotiations;
· optimisations, related but not limited to:
Consolidation at origin, Customs, Container trucking,
Intermodal in Europe;
· establishing collaboration agreements with shipping alliances;
· working together on additional savings opportunities;
· monthly reporting in a structured way.
