After all these years, I think it’s time for a proper introduction. I’m Lieke, a travel journalist, photographer, content creator and founder of Little Wanderbook: a travel platform I started in 2015 from a dressing room at the DeLaMar Theatre in Amsterdam.

In 2008 I graduated from the Amsterdam Academy of Theatre and Performing Arts, worked as an actress in television and musical theatre, and became the Dutch voiceover for Garnier and Maybelline.

Little Wanderbook began as a side project, but grew into a full time career. I published the travel book Tropical Escapes, work for Dutch magazines and received 2 Dutch Travel Blog Awards.

Sri Lanka feels like a second home and Amsterdam is where I return to write, edit and plan the next adventure.

In 2023 I got my life back after 2,5 years of long covid.

These days you’ll usually find me travelling solo, trying to upgrade my surf skills somewhere in the world. I love to create travel guides, photography, UGC and visual storytelling for hotels, tourism boards and travel brands around the world.
