Let’s beat the & take some time to appreciate these witty slogans we found at IAA!

1. We got a double-whammy here, with ‘We Tank You..’ and another one ‘Tank It Easy’ an advice we should follow this Monday 😂
2. A company with Hydraulic lift in transportation definitely will ‘lift up your profit’. Genius 🤩
3. We can’t resist a personified slogan either, Thermo King 🫡
4. This one is just plain good, or should we say ‘Just Pan Good’, another branding genius 🤣
5. Last is a food vendor in IAA, and we agree cooking is definitely not a crime - we even got inspired, and think for us in the transport refrigeration industry, we can say that ‘Cooling… is not a crime’ 😎

Schmitz old type generators
Schmitz units are new. Even they are already 10years on the market. But still they are new compared to TK or CTC being around 80 years with continuous improvements.

Recently we started refurbishing generators for S.CU (i think Schmitz.CollingUnit)

It’s a bumpy road to say the least. 1. You got to obtain winding diagram. And then re-wind it. Correctly.

Unfortunately our first try was not a success. Even with correct winding technician decided to pull out cords from the wrong side (front but not back). To fix it we could have turned stator upside down, but aluminium housing broke.

It is still a process. But once we get out of the storm, calm water awaits to help our customers fix their S.CU.

For now enjoy the pictures and a video how we pull magnets out of the housing with stator.

Few years back Schmitz changed their generator for the better version of the generator but engine mounts are for the older type of generator. For this you have retrofit ring for stunning 900€ to fit new gen to the older type engine. We want to repair older generators to keep units running smooth at minimum costs.

The worst claim a salesmen could make is it put OEM (original equipment manufacturer) claim on their product.

It is an empty statement about quality! and have exclusive rights on their products at factories, this “OEM” is a different design and often much worse quality then similar aftermarket product. OEM factory put premium margin and your sales men put premium margin on this part.

Who knows CTK: we never do such claim! 2 years ago you were getting only ORIGINAL parts, now you are getting only aftermarket parts.

But one things is always the same: we offer the best price for everyone!

That is why all our best prices are online for anyone!

PS: I would run away from anyone who does this claim! Last week I put aftermarket OEM screen on my phone: it was S**T.

Schmitz unit s.CU.d 80 - When 21st century circles back.

But big big thank you for spicing up competition! It is interesting to follow how you try to acquire new customers.

LCD display very hard to understand. As a driver I will be able only to change set point and may be initiate a defrost cycle. For everything else I would need an operator to help me out… honestly, cold storage operators should do the set up. Driver - drives. If you don’t do it online, then let the warehouse operator do it, they know what cargo is being loaded.

Commonrail diesel engine with electric high pressure pump. Rumours has it: it leaks oil everywhere! But ok, things are meant to be improved. It should get better with time.

Diesel engine powers generator, which powers electric motor, which powers compressors. E = Efficiency. The biggest energy consumer here is the compressor and you power it with another electric motor. Then generator powers everything else. But ECU should be able to control quite efficiently output power of the electric motor to make it quite efficient in terms of power consumption.

Compressor is Bock. I think a few people has questions about reliability of it. Good compressor.

Verdict 5/10. It looks like someone created S.CUd 80 from commercially available parts in a truck shop. But that’s what you have. Non of us knew it was even possible. Extra two points for that. 7/10. Keep on!

container re**er is a different game.

Why do you need less cooling capacity on sea re**er then on road trailer?

First that the transit time is much longer. But 80% of deliveries are part loads.

50% of all loads a frozen goods
25% are bananas only fpr this they got special re**er which injects CO2 to get out O2 and premature ripening.

Re**er has much smaller capacity than road units, T-1000 or 1200 could do the job on 40ft container. Cargo is being loaded pre chilled, but this we have not figured out completely… may be someone knows?

On average ambient temperatures on the sea are just above 25C degrees. I think during summer road transport has much higher ambient temperatures.

Jn Sea Re**er main thing is that it is more then just temperature control. Humidity, oxygen also play a crucial role.

Perhaps something has to be applied in our industry too? would you like to join road transportation business?

Well… what did Krone here?
3 separate refrigeration units which are powered by genset.
Why three units? If one or two breaks down other one still can support it. And you can change it at nearest Krone dealer as parts of your service contract. Change is only couple of hours, no load will be sacrificed.

BUT! The whole concept is based on the engineering idea that eventually one out of three units breaks down. This is not a way to a perfection!!!

As alternative and concept it ok. Everyday use item…
