THE STRESS YOU CHOOSE

Sometimes I sit back and think about something we don't talk about enough:

Being an entrepreneur is stressful. But so is being employed.

As an entrepreneur, you carry responsibilities that people don't always see. You think about customers, employees, bills, cash flow, marketing, competition and what happens when things don't go according to plan.

There is no guaranteed salary waiting at the end of the month. Sometimes, you are the CEO, marketer, accountant, problem-solver and the person responsible for finding the money 😞.

But being a salary earner has its own risks too. You can work hard, meet your targets and give your best, yet your company can restructure, your position can disappear, or circumstances beyond your control can affect your income.

So I've learned something 🧠

There is no completely risk-free path.

As an entrepreneur, you risk money. As an employee, you risk time. The entrepreneur worries about whether the business will survive; the employee may worry about whether the job will survive.

For me, Kany Ride has been a practical lesson in all of this.

What started as an idea is becoming something real. Today, we have over 100 drivers and more than 1,600 customers

Every driver represents a livelihood. Every passenger represents someone who trusts us. Every ride represents a promise.

That's the part of entrepreneurship people don't always see.

The question is not which path has no stress.

The question is: What are you willing to carry, and what are you building with it?

For me, I chose to build.

Speed Doesn't Solve Emergencies

One of our partners at Kany Ride has a saying that has stayed with many of us:

"No matter the emergency, don't try to drive like James Bond. Don't do Fast & Furious on the road."

One day, a driver received a distressing call and his first instinct was to speed. Then he remembered those words. He stayed calm, drove safely, and arrived without incident. The situation wasn't as bad as he feared.

The truth is, speed solves only a very small percentage of emergencies. Most emergencies eventually take care of themselves, but one reckless decision on the road can create a bigger problem than the one you're rushing to solve.

At Kany Ride, we believe that getting there safely is more important than getting there quickly.
