Prince Umoekpo Emerges Advisory Board Chairman as UFC Holds Annual General Meeting, Inaugurates Exco

The Special Assistant to the Governor on Project (SDGs) Hon Prince Nsikanabasi Umoekpo yesterday emerged Chairman of Uyo Fitness Cyclers Advisory Board at the Annual General Meeting and Get-together party of the Organisation in Uyo which also featured inauguration of new executives.
In his acceptance speech, the former Chairman of Ukanafun LGA said he was shocked when the result of the ballot was announced by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Multilateral and Donor Agencies, Mr NdianaAbasi Nana Udom, but however, accepted the offer, thanked members for the confidence reposed in him and promised to lead by example by soliciting inputs from other members of the Board in discharging his duties as the Board Chairman of the Cyclers Club.
Setting the tone for the event, an Adviser in UFC, Mr Mfon Abraham described the Cyclers Club as “a unique family” stating that 2020 has been a fruitful year for UFC considering achievements made within the short period of the Club’s existence.
The Longrich director further said that the Get-together became necessary owing to the need for members to gather and thank God for a successful year while strategizing for the next year. He welcomed members to the maiden Annual General Meeting and Get-together and urged them to feel home and have fun.
Earlier in his inaugural address, the Coordinator of Uyo Fitness Cyclers, Mr Thomas Etuk thanked members for honouring the event. He poured encomiums on the Advisers for their support which according to him is pivotal to the success recorded so far in the 7-month old Cyclers Association. Mr Etuk reeled out the achievements of UFC in 2020 to includes the successful hosting of Open Day Ride and Orange 33 Tour where UFC organized to commemorate Akwa Ibom at 33. The event according to the Coordinator featured 325 Cyclers touring the state capital in a 33kms ride to celebrate Akwa Ibom State.
He also disclosed that Cycling has been captured in the state Tourism Calendar of next year and charged members to prepare for the event adding that the registration process is ongoing and would be completed early next year. Mr Etuk further presented the a comprehensive reports of the Association from inception to December 2020.
Meanwhile, the newly inaugurated executives of UFC has been charged to brace up for challenges ahead and fill the leadership gap whenever need arises. The charge was made by a legal practitioner and UFC member, Barr (Mrs) Nsima Ndifreke while administering Oath of office to the new executive members of Uyo Fitness Cyclers. Barr Ndifreke charged them to discharge their duties creditably and endeavour to leave above board. The 14-member administrative Council are includes:

The well attended event had Mr Mfon Abraham, Prince Nsikanabasi Umoekpo, Mr John Nta, Mr Joseph Akpan, Mr Ndiana-Abasi Nana Udom and Hon Emem Ekpanya from the Advisory Board in attendance with forty other members made their presence felt at the maiden Annual General Meeting/Get-together of the Association.
