How to Apply for the 🇨🇦 New Brunswick Critical Worker Pilot (NBCWP)
The program allows International workers to come into Canada and eventually get Permanent Residency (PR) through a job offer.
STEP BY STEP PROCESS
✅ 1: Check if You’re Eligible
Before applying, make sure you meet these basic requirements:
• AGE CRITERIA: Be sure that you are from 19–55 years old
• WORK EXPERIENCE CRITERIA: Be sure You have 1 year of work experience in the last 5 years in a relevant job and appointment letter to show for it
• EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND CRITERIA: Be sure you have at least a high school education (WASSCE/SSCE accepted if assessed)
• LANGUAGE CRITERIA: Be sure You have basic English or French (You’ll eventually need CLB 4, which is low-level IELTS)
• AVAILABILITY CRITERIA: You’re willing to live and work in New Brunswick
✅ 2: Search for Job Openings
You need to get a full-time, permanent job offer from one of the 6 approved employers:
1. Cooke Aquaculture
2. Groupe Savoie
3. Groupe Westco
4. Imperial Manufacturing
5. J.D. Irving Ltd.
6. McCain Foods
Search for jobs like:
• Factory worker
• Fish plant worker
• Sawmill worker
• Truck driver
• Food processor
• Farmhand
✅ 3: Apply for the Job
• Submit your CV/resume and cover letter directly on the employer’s website
• Highlight your work experience and willingness to relocate to New Brunswick
• If shortlisted, you’ll be interviewed online (Zoom, Skype, etc.)
STEP 4: Get a Job Offer
Once you receive a job offer, the employer will:
• Help you with a settlement plan (housing, transport, language training)
• Nominate you for permanent residency through New Brunswick’s provincial program (NBPNP)
✅ 5: Get Nominated by New Brunswick
Your employer submits your documents to the NBPNP on your behalf. Once approved:
• You receive a nomination certificate
• You can apply for Permanent Residency and a temporary work permit (to enter Canada and start working)
✅ 6: Apply for Canadian PR
You apply to IRCC (Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada) with:
• Your nomination certificate
• Medical and police clearance
• Language results (minimum CLB 4)
• Your documents (passport, job offer, education, work history)
PR processing time: around 20–21 months, but you’ll likely already be working in Canada while waiting.
