APM Terminals Nigeria’s CFO, Courage Obadangbonyi, joined industry leaders to share practical ideas for improving trade efficiency across the country.
Speaking on Transport Corridor Upgrade: Improving Trade Efficiency, he highlighted Nigeria’s six key economic corridors and the challenges created by the concentration of seaports in Lagos— including congestion, high logistics costs, and delays.
He emphasized the role of inland dry ports, multimodal hubs, digital trade facilitation, and regulatory reforms in decongesting seaports and speeding up cargo delivery.

Exciting moments at the Blue Economy Investment Summit in Abuja!

APM Terminals Nigeria CEO, Frederik Klinke, joined the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, to discuss Nigeria’s maritime future.
Frederik delivered a powerful keynote on the summit’s theme, “Shifting Gears: Heading to a New Frontier in the Maritime Economy.” He highlighted the importance of policy alignment, infrastructure investment, and disciplined ex*****on to unlock Nigeria’s maritime potential.
He also emphasized the need for continued government support predictable regulations, faster digitisation, and strategic infrastructure can drive quicker cargo flows, boost exports, and attract more investors.

Yesterday at our Q1 Townhall, we were pleased to officially welcome Kamal Alhraishat as the new Terminal Managing Director for Apapa. Kamal joins us from APM Terminals Bahrain, where he most recently served as Chief Operating Officer.

Kamal shared his vision for Apapa, encouraging us to build on our strong momentum, consistently deliver value to our customers, and continue to embed safety and operational excellence in everything we do.

The townhall also provided an opportunity to align on our roadmap towards achieving our 2026 objectives, while fostering open dialogue through feedback and engagement with the leadership team.

APM Terminals Apapa participated in a recent European Business Chamber Nigeria (Eurocham) Annual Conference and Expo, where our CEO, Frederik Klinke, joined the roundtable on European Business Perspectives in Nigeria.

He notes, "Nigeria holds significant potential and that recent reforms are encouraging.""

However, Klinke emphasized that predictability—not policy announcements—is what drives investment, stating that only consistent implementation will give investors the confidence to commit long-term capital.

2025 was a landmark year for APM Terminals Apapa!

We made significant strides in strengthening Nigeria’s trade ecosystem through deeper partnerships, strategic investments, and smarter, more efficient logistics solutions.
One of our proudest achievements was recording our highest-ever monthly export throughput—8,687 TEUs, marking a remarkable 31.5% year‑on‑year growth.

We also expanded our rail services, helping reduce road congestion and ensuring faster, smoother cargo evacuation across the country.
Together with our partners, we proved what coordinated collaboration can achieve. Here’s to building an even stronger, more connected trade future for Nigeria!
