LBSL, LAGOS POLICE COMMAND PLEDGE STRONGER COLLABORATION FOR SAFER COMMUTES
Lagos Bus Service Limited Seeks Increased Security Visibility at Terminals and Key Bus Corridors

Lagos Bus Service Limited (LBSL), led by its Managing Director, Mr. Idowu Oguntona, on Wednesday paid an official courtesy visit to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, at the Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja.
The visit was aimed at strengthening security collaboration, reassuring commuters of their safety and reinforcing LBSL’s position as a responsible, commuter first public transport operator in line with the Lagos State Government’s THEMES+ Agenda.

During the visit, Mr. Oguntona congratulated CP Fatai on his appointment, describing it as “a square peg in a square hole.” He reaffirmed LBSL’s commitment to ensuring that every BRT bus ride is secure for all Lagosians, with particular focus on women, students and night commuters.
LBSL requested increased police visibility, rapid response, and joint patrols at major terminals, bus stops and along critical corridors. The company commended the Lagos State Police Command for its sustained crackdown on illegal bus operations and pledged full cooperation with enforcement efforts, maintaining zero tolerance for impersonation or fraud on its routes.

The Management also highlighted LBSL’s in house drivers vetting, professional training and strict code of conduct, while seeking the Command’s support in prosecuting cases of traffic violations and assaults on LBSL staff.
LBSL emphasized that its regulated, trackable, and monitored fleet provides a safer alternative to unregulated transport, thereby reducing commuter exposure to risks. The company also noted its contribution to public safety through job creation, employing thousands of Lagos youths and reducing idleness and restiveness.
