As Someone or Organisation into International Trade, do you understand your supply chain? Everyone can claim to be a freight forwarder; do you know the difference between a freight forwarder and a custom broker?
Freight forwarders are experts in the supply chain who concentrate in the logistics and physical transportation of goods. Freight forwarders are usually in charge of everything from the process of exporting from country of origin and sometimes import at the country of origin based on the incoterm in used, Including documentations and compliance filling, they manage every other persons or group that are involved in this chain.
A customs broker act as the intermediary between the importer and the government’s customs department in the country of import. They make sure all government requirements during export and import are accurate, complete and submitted at the right places, this is very important to prevent goods being held down at point of entry by custom, leading to loss of productive time and funds.
The good news is that your freight forwarder can also act as your custom broker, but a custom broker is certainly not a freight forwarder.
At Overland Prolog Solutions Limited, we offer a holistic logistic service from start to finish; you do not need an extra custom agent.
