HEMATURIA

Presence of red blood cells in the Urine.

TYPES OF HEMATURIA

👉🏼 Microscopic Hematuria : When you can't see the blood because the amount is so small. Only a lab test can detect "microscopic hematuria".
👉🏼 Gross Hematuria - if there is blood in urine that your urines appear pink or red, or has spots of visible blood. You have gross hematuria.

CAUSES
👉🏼 Urinary Tract Infections
👉🏼 Trauma/Injury to any part of the Urinary Tract (The Kidney, Ureters, Bladder and Urethra).
👉🏼 Drugs
👉🏼 Bleeding disorders; excessive bleeding from an injury or surgery (and inherited bleeding disorders).
👉🏼 People who do strenous exercises e.g long distance running.
👉🏼 Having a family history of kidney diseases.

SIGNS & SYMPTOMS*
