ACCOUNTANT
Location: Abuja, Nigeria

UJT Logistics Services Ltd. is seeking a competent, detail-oriented, accountable, and results-driven Accountant to support the Company's financial management, accounting, reporting, and internal control functions.
The successful candidate will be based in Abuja and will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, managing reconciliations, supporting budgeting and expenditure control, and ensuring that the Company's financial transactions are properly documented and accounted for.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accountant will:
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for the Company.
• Record and properly classify all income, expenses, assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and promptly investigate reconciling items.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Monitor customer receivables and follow up on outstanding payments.
• Prepare invoices, receipts, payment documentation, and other accounting records.
• Support the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and cash-flow forecasts.
• Monitor expenditure against approved budgets and report significant variances.
• Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
• Assist with payroll preparation and reconciliation.
• Maintain schedules for fixed assets and other financial records.
• Ensure appropriate authorization and supporting documentation for payments.
• Support tax computation, statutory deductions, remittances, and regulatory filings.
• Assist Management in strengthening financial controls and accountability.
• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and other relevant stakeholders as required.
• Prepare periodic management accounts and financial analysis to support decision-making.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of the Company's financial information.
• Perform other finance and accounting responsibilities assigned by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Candidates should possess:
• Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum of 3–5 years' relevant accounting or finance experience.
• Professional qualification or progress toward ICAN, ACCA, ANAN, or equivalent will be an added advantage.
• Practical knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, taxation, budgeting, and internal controls.
• Experience in logistics, transportation, courier, 3PL, supply chain, or a related service industry will be an added advantage.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
• Strong accounting and financial reporting skills.
• Excellent numerical and analytical ability.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good understanding of Nigerian taxation and statutory obligations.
• Ability to prepare and interpret financial reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Strong reconciliation and record-keeping skills.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
• Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
