With the heaviest of hearts, we join the nation in mourning the tragic and devastating attack on the Gari Ya Waye Community, Agwan Rukuba, Jos-Plateau State, which occurred on Palm Sunday, 29th March 2026.
Precious lives. Gone.
Families torn apart.
A community shattered.
And hearts deeply wounded.
No words are enough. No statement can undo the pain. But we refuse to stay silent.
To the families of every life lost, we see your grief. We feel your pain. And we stand with you in this unbearable moment. Your loved ones did not deserve this. They were fathers, mothers, children, neighbours, friends. They had names. They had dreams. They mattered and they will never be forgotten.
To the injured and traumatised survivors,we pray for your swift recovery, both in body and in spirit. May you find strength in the days ahead that you do not yet know you possess.
To the Gari Ya Waye Community, you are not alone. Nigeria grieves with you. We grieve with you.
We call on the Nigerian Police Force, the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services, and all relevant security agencies to treat this as the absolute emergency it is. Act swiftly. Act decisively. Bring the perpetrators of this heinous and cowardly act to justice. The blood of the innocent demands accountability.
We also call on the Plateau State Government and Federal Government of Nigeria to provide immediate humanitarian support, medical care, and security reinforcement to this community and the surrounding areas. No Nigerian should live in fear on holy ground.
Let those responsible for this evil face the full weight of the law and divine judgement of God.
God please Protect this land. Protect Your people.
For Nigeria shall not be consumed by darkness.
