Emirates Airlines, has announced that it would start airlifting passengers from both it's Abuja and Lagos offices.

The statement stated that the suspension of flights from Nigeria was in line with UAE Government directive.

It also reiterated that Nigerian passengers would not be allowed to transit from any other airport outside Nigeria to Dubai, disclosing that Nigerians who arrived in Dubai from transit destinations were not allowed to come into the country.

According to the statement, “In line with the government directives,The Airline began operations on Saturday 5th of February 2022, with the first flight been on Monday, February 7th 2022.Fir Lagos,they have 14 flight frequencies each week and 7 for Abuja.

“Emirates flights from Dubai to Lagos and Abuja will continue to operate as per the normal schedule.

F.D.A. Plans to Ban Most E-Cigarette Flavors but Menthol
The to***co and va**ng industries and conservative allies intensively lobbied against a ban on popular flavored e-cigarettes.

The Trump administration is expected to announce this week that it will ban mint-, fruit- and dessert-flavored e-cigarette cartridges popular with teenagers, but allow menthol and to***co flavors to remain on the market.
Flavored liquid ni****ne used in open tank systems can continue to be sold, according to two administration officials who have been briefed on the plan. It is an important concession to v**e shops that have thrived alongside the booming e-cigarette business in recent years.
President Trump acknowledged late Tuesday that the ban would be announced “very shortly.” But he indicated that it might be short-lived and he didn’t say which flavors were involved.
“We think we are going to get back in the market very, very quickly,” Mr. Trump said at a New Year’s Eve news conference during a party at his Mar-a-Lago resort. “We have a very big industry. We’re going to take care of the industry.”
The administration’s decision is a partial retreat from a commitment it made in September to quickly devise a ban of all flavors except those that tasted like to***co. Its plan to exempt menthol appeared to be an effort to dodge a bruising legal battle with the to***co industry, and also reflected intense lobbying by the va**ng industry.
Administration officials also pointed to data that showed that teenagers aren’t choosing menthol-flavored pods or cartridges.
Public health experts said the government would be making a good start in banning flavors most alluring to youths. But they said they feared teenagers would switch to menthol rather than quit va**ng.
“Flavors attract kids, and menthol is a flavor,” said Erika Sward, a spokeswoman for the American Lung Association. “It really helps to numb the senses and makes the poison go down easil

F.D.A. Nominee Clears Senate Panel
As a teen va**ng and health crisis dominates public concerns, the Food and Drug Administration has been without a permanent commissioner since April.

A Senate committee on Tuesday advanced the nomination of Dr. Stephen Hahn, a noted oncologist and cancer researcher, to lead the Food and Drug Administration.
Dr. Hahn, chief medical executive at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, was nominated by President Trump last month to replace Dr. Scott Gottlieb, who left the job in April.
Dr. Norman E. Sharpless, director of the National Cancer Institute, had served as acting commissioner from April to Nov. 1. Although Dr. Sharpless was endorsed by four former F.D.A. commissioners and dozens of patient advocacy groups, he had donated to Democrats, which seemed to weigh heavily against him. Dr. Hahn has donated to Republicans, but not to the president’s campaign.
Since Dr. Sharpless returned to his post at the National Cancer Institute, Dr. Brett Giroir, the assistant secretary of health, has been running the F.D.A.
“Dr. Hahn is well qualified to lead the F.D.A. at this time,” said Senator Lamar Alexander, Republican of Tennessee and chairman of the Senate Health Education Labor and Pensions Committee. The panel voted 18 to 5 in favor of Dr. Hahn. Senator Patty Murray of Washington, the committee’s top Democrat, said on Tuesday that she opposed Dr. Hahn’s nomination because of his refusal to commit to adopting tough e-cigarette regulation. Republican Senator Mitt Romney, of Utah, also criticized Dr. Hahn for failing to take a strong stand against e-cigarettes, but voted for him.
Dr. Hahn, 59, still must be confirmed by the Senate, although no vote has been scheduled. Senator Alexander said he hoped a full Senate vote might occur by the end of the year.
He would be stepping into the job as the F.D.A. is confronting several crises, among them, the continuing outbreak of va**ng-related lung disease
