For a WHILE
We CRY
When we are supposed to SMILE
WHY?
So......
1. I wanna speak my mind without RANCOUR
Equally, without fear or FAVOUR.
For this issue is very CRITICAL
So, I've got to be CLINICAL.
2. A day we ought to CELEBRATE
But can't afford to JUBILATE
Over what, to be SINCERE
Are we to merry about this YEAR.
3. 56 years ago today, we became INDEPENDENT
Yet we found ourselves in this PREDICAMENT
I congratulate the GOVERNMENT
Yes, for this 'ugly' DEVELOPMENT.
4. We are in RECESSION
But Our politicians are more concerned with POSSESSION
Instead of making a lasting IMPRESSION
To boost PROGRESSION.
5. The youth is the SOLUTION
To this deteriorating SITUATION
Women ain't ruled out in this quest for REDEMPTION
Of our beloved NATION.
6. We don't need a MAGICIAN
But an upright POLITICIAN
Who knows what's on GROUND
And is eager to turn it AROUND
7. Vandalism and terrorism are the order of the DAY
Yet we are reluctant to PRAY
God will show us the WAY
That's all we SAY.
8. As a matter of URGENCY
We must pray FERVENTLY
For God's INTERVENTION
In this SITUATION.
