REMAIN 5 DAYS FOR CHRISTMAS: SIX things you may not know about the role of JESUS and his mother, MARY in Islam:

1. Jesus, Mary, and the angel Gabriel are all prominent characters in the Qur’an .

2. Muslims believe that Jesus (called “Isa” in Arabic) was a prophet of God and was born to a virgin (Mary). They also believe he will return to Earth before the Day of Judgment to restore justice and defeat al-Masih ad-Dajjal, 🤕 or “the false messiah” — also known as the Antichrist. All of this may sound pretty familiar to many Christians. (The fact that Muslims know that “al-Masih ad-Dajjal” is the Arabic name for the Antichrist .

3. Mary (called “Maryam” in Arabic) has an entire chapter in the Qur’an named for her — the only chapter in the Qur’an named for a female figure. In fact, Mary is the only woman to be mentioned by name in the entire Qur’an. As noted in the Study Quran, “other female figures are identified only by their relation to others, such as the wife of Adam and the mother of Moses, or by their title, such as the Queen of Sheba.”
😍😍 Mary is mentioned more times in the Qur’an than in the entire New Testament of the Bible.

4. Just as they do with all the other prophets, including Mohammed pbuh, devout Muslims recite “peace be upon him” after every time they refer to Jesus by name.

5. Muslims believe that Jesus performed miracles: The Qur’an discusses several of Jesus’s miracles, including giving sight to the blind, healing lepers, raising the dead, and breathing life into clay birds, but by God's WILL NOT BY HIMSELF.

6. The story of Jesus’s birth as told in the Qur’an is also the story of his first miracle, when he spoke as an infant👶 in the cradle and declared himself to be a prophet of God.

*In 2015,* residents in several villages talk about unmarked helicopters flying over forests in Maiduguri air dropping packages. Especially at night. In one incident they watched the helicopter crashes. Villagers ran to the scene to rescue the occupants and were stunned to see two Caucasian men burning briefcases of hundred dollar bills before running away the crash site.

*November 2018.* A Paris based NGO "Action Against Hunger" is caught in the forest giving food and medicine to Boko Haram insurgents.

*In 2014* the NAF intercepted a French chattered Chad bound Antonov cargo aircraft in Kano airport. The pilot and crew denied the aircaft was carrying any weapons and requested they be allowed to leave and refused to show the release the cargo manifest. Upon inspection crates of weapons were discovered. The French pilot and crew were subsequently detained pending further investigation.

Then they changed their story. Long story short...diplomats did what diplomats do and they were released.

*August 2013.* France facilitated a $3 million ransom payment to Boko Haram and tried to hide it from the Nigerian government. August 2015. The Nigerian military is about to launch a final offensive against a weakened Boko Haram. There is an air of optimism in the country. Late Chadian strongman Idris Derby approached the Nigerian government with GOOD NEWS.

Idris Derby claims Boko Haram reached out to him asking that it mediates a cease fire deal between the parties in the conflict. They are ready to surrender.

But theres a caveat. The offensive will have to be called off. The government was trying to verify the authenticity of Boko Haram’s representatives in the supposed negotiations, but Deby asked the Nigerian government to take a chance that he had done the verification already. He affirmed that Boko Haram’s representatives were legit.

He demands $23 million for his service. President Jonathan calls on the military to stand down. *Derby gets his $23 million.* Negotiations begin. The period of the phantom negotiations gave Boko Haram time to regroup, reinforce and restrategise, which is the intent of Deby for asking the Nigerian government to negotiate a ceasefire with Boko Haram.

A Nigerian delegation left for Chad on *October 21* for talks with Boko Haram, but the Chadian president became evasive. The Nigerian delegation was told that Deby was sick and that the meeting be rescheduled for *October 23rd.*

However, on that date, the delegation was told that the Chadian president was still sick after waiting for six hours. The delegation made visits to Chad a number of times, but met a brick wall.

As Boko Haram’s resumed attacks grew in intensity, Abuja became worried. Many attempts were made to inquire from the Chadian president who was supposed to be mediating between the Nigerian government and Boko Haram, but the attempts were all futile.

France was privy to the botched negotiations, but said nothing just like the Chadian government.

This was a BOLD move. It became clear to *President Jonathan he had been scammed $23 million by Deby,* who no doubt was sure of French military support should Nigeria retaliates

The government of Chad did not say a word to the Nigerian govt since Boko Hara resumed onslaughts.

*FOUR MONTHS LATER* the personal aid to Idris Deby Mr Bakharat Gnotti is caught by bodyguards with 19 Man Portable SA-7 surface to air missiles (MANPADS) he was to deliver to Boko Haram.

Mr. Gnoti who claimed that President Idriss Deby gave him the funds to purchase the weapons, had waved a presidential pass issued to him by Mr. Deby’s office in order to get past border guards but was stopped and searched by the guards who found the deadly weapons on him.

The arrest of Mr. Gnoti is solid evidence that the Chadian president and France were complicit in the resurgence of Boko Haram. Coming just months after Mr. Derby recently swindled the Nigerian government out of millions of dollars in FAKE Cease-fire Deal.

In the Central African Republic the Russians began making inroads, providing security for the CAR President. Russia sends 300 military advisers and begin training CAR forces. This is followed by donating military hardware such as vehicles and fi****ms to the CAR army. The French begin clandestinely supplying arms to CAR rebels to keep the fight going, in the hopes of damaging Russias credibility in the CAR.

France has been covertly arming militants and rebel groups all over Africa. Destabilizing small and weak countries to make them dependent on French security. If these countries try to democratize the French leadership opposes such a move or sponsors a coup.

When the ECOWAS Single Currency Project was in the final phase of implementation Macron sent a signal opposing this approach to francophone economic integration. Nobody took this threat serious until he convinced the francophone bloc to peg the ECO to the CFA. Making the ECO project dead in arrival. In France’s former colonies, imperialist monetary policies from Paris continue to cripple their domestic economies and undermine democracy. Colonialism in Africa won’t come to an end until true economic sovereignty is allowed to flourish.

Until France is kicked out of Africa for good it is highly unlikely there will be an end to violence in most parts of Africa.

Finally, the African Covid has arrived

This is the moment the World - Western world- has been waiting for. Now, with South Africa/ Southern Africa identified as the source of the new Omicron Covid, the continent can be labelled and punished in ways that couldn't be applied to China or India in the earlier cases of the Alpha and Delta variants.

The travel bans have began. By Christmas, the bans will cover the entire continent and we will be shut in and the keys thrown away.

This is not doomsaying. This is a most plausible trajectory of a diseases which elicits political and scientific responses in equal measure.

Africa must unite and respond vigorously. We are a big continent with resources the would want. Leadership deficit and corruption will be cited as reasons why we remain where we are. But global inequalities identified as a virus called neocolonialism plays a much larger role in our malaise.

Once Covid becomes THE African disease, that's it. In addition to travel bans our exports, especially agro-processed ones will be stigmatised with new standards impossible to meet while our minerals and primary products will be extracted even more forcefully to make up for our income shortfalls.

This is a moment to signal to ourselves that we have what it takes to respond. African unity is not an ideological postulate to be debated; it is a necessary response to an existential threat. This is a moment of truth and action.

THROW BACK

Abiola was friends with IBB and supported him with finance during the ouster of Buhari.
The IBB coup that toppled the draconian Buhari regime on August 27, 1985, the coup was welcomed by NIgerians.

After almost eight years of dribbling Nigerians (Chief Bisi Onabanjo nicknamed Babangida Maradona, after the famous Argentine footballer), IBB finally announced that he would hand over power to an elected successor come August 27, 1993, the eighth anniversary of his coup.

Because they were friends, Abiola believed him despite glaring evidence that Babangida was insincere...

Initially, Abiola was not too sure whether he should plunged into politics again especially after his bitter experience in the National Party of Nigeria, NPN, during the Second Republic.

On a journey to Senegal, during his universal campaign for reparation from the West for victims of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.

Abiola was asked in a whether he was interested in running for President. He replied, “What else do I want in running from Lagos to Taraba, and between Imo and Ondo?” he asked with a flourish. “Some of us have gone beyond that! I want things that would unite us, not divide us.”

Few weeks after this disclaimer, Abiola joined the SDP and sought to run for President under the option A4 formular which pitched him on the home front against other contenders like Otunba Olabiyi Durojaiye, Professor Bolaji Akinyemi and Mr Gbolabo Ogunsanwo.

By the time of the SDP Convention in Jos, Plateau State, the battle had been reduced into a three-corner combat.

Despite the massive support Abiola had across the country, he knew it would be difficult for him to win because one of his opponents, Babagana Kingibe, a smooth-talking former diplomat and estranged protégé of General Sheri Musa Yar’Adua (Elder brother of President Yar’Adua) had the support of most of the governors.

In his South-West home base, only Governors Olusegun Osoba of Ogun and Governor Isiaka Adeleke (Davido’s Uncle) of Osun, were with him.

Both Governors Kolapo Ishola of Oyo and Bamidele Olumilua of Ondo have pitched their tents with Kingibe.

Yar’Adua was banned from running for president by the IBB regime, so Yar’Adua decided to field a young former custom officer, Atiku Abubakar.

This was 1993. The results after the first ballot of the primaries held in Jos was: Abiola had 3,617 votes, Kingibe 3,255 votes and Atiku with 2,066 votes.

Atiku and Kingibe considered joining forces combining 5,231 votes to challenge Abiola.

However, after Yar'Adua asked Atiku Abubakar to withdraw from the campaign, with Abiola promising to make him his running mate. Atiku stepped down.

Abiola was later pressured by SDP governors to select Kinigbe as his VP running mate.

He did not name Atiku as his running mate. (Atiku is on this platform. He can confirm this)

Instead he left Jos without pronouncing his running mate. Yar’Adua feels played and slighted by Abiola’s craftiness.

IBB called to congratulate Abiola and offered his advice on who should be his VP

At their meeting in Aso-Rock, the new presidential villa, Babangida said Abiola should name the president of the Nigerian Labour Congress, Paschal Bafyau, as his VP

He said the Nigerian military would not support a Muslim-Muslim ticket and because of that dismissed the idea of an Abiola-Atiku ticket.

At that time, there was no love-lost between IBB and Yar’Adua.

Abiola said Kingibe was the choice of the governors but he would prefer Air-Commodore Dan Suleiman, a former air force officer and military governor.

So Governors wanted Kingibe

IBB wanted NLC president Pascal Bafyau

Abiola wanted Dan Suleiman.

On May 1, 1993, Dr Doyin Abiola, the Editor-in-Chief of the Concord Group of Newspapers, issued a press statement announcing the choice of Kingibe as Abiola’s running mate

That effectively ended the friendship between Abiola and his two friends, IBB and Yar’Adua

From that point on, it was difficult for Abiola to get Babangida on the phone.

A Cold War began.

Abiola went ahead to contest against the candidate of the National Republican Convention, NRC, Bashir Tofa.

The presidential election on June 12, 1993, was generally seen as free and fair and unofficial result gave victory to Abiola.

IBB annulled the result.

A new and final chapter had thus been opened in Abiola’s colourful and rewarding life.

He decided to challenge the annulment of his victory by his old friend, IBB

Yar’Adua, who controlled the SDP party machinery through his ally, the durable Chief Tony Anenih, refused to rally the SDP to support Abiola.

The governors, elected on the platform of the party, were not sure of what to do.

Abiola decided to look for new friends. He found General Sani Abacha. It was the kiss of death.

It was a strange friendship.

While Abiola was flamboyant and gregarious, Abacha was taciturn and deep.

He was the great survivor whose craftiness and staying power overwhelmed men who appeared more brilliant and outgoing.

With the encouragement of Abiola, Abacha toppled the Shonekan, the board room titan who had been shoved in to manage the turbulent interregnum after IBB fled from Abuja.

Abacha put some of SDP people in his govt including Kingibe. That sealed Abiola’s fate.

TO BE CONTINUED

Abiola lost his wife, his entire business empire and eventually his freedom to the machinations of the Abacha govt.

Fun-facts. Shehu Yar’adua was the god of SDP.

He had deep connections and Infact was The Godfather having young Turks at his behests

Among those young Turks were Atiku, Kwankwanso and surprise surprise, Tinubu, President Umaru Yar’adua and Kingibe (before he fell off). ~ Morris Monye
