Many organizations generate hazardous waste without always
recognizing the risks associated with improper handling and disposal.

Hazardous materials such as oil sludge, contaminated liquids, and medical waste can have lasting impacts if not handled correctly. The consequences? Risks to human health, damage to ecosystems, and non-compliance with environmental regulations.

Effective hazardous waste management ensures that these materials are safely contained, transported, and disposed of in line with environmental regulations.

Rent-A-Drum supports organizations nationwide with reliable, compliant solutions to manage hazardous waste safely and sustainably.

One day doesn’t change the world. Systems do. ♻️

Today is World Recycling Day, a reminder that real sustainability goes beyond awareness.

Because lasting impact comes from what we do consistently, not occasionally.

This World Recycling Day, we encourage businesses to move beyond intention and invest in solutions that drive long-term sustainable change.

Driving Operational Excellence at Rent-A-Drum.

At Rent-A-Drum, Jaco Swart needs no introduction. Since stepping into the role of Chief Operations Officer in February 2025, Jaco has been at the forefront of our operations, overseeing large-scale waste collection planning, coordinating teams across multiple sites and locations in Namibia, and ensuring that every part of our service runs smoothly and efficiently.

With extensive experience in integrated waste management, particularly within Namibia’s demanding mining sector, he brings in-depth knowledge that continues to elevate our standards. Through his leadership, experience, and deep understanding of the business, he has consistently driven improved processes, greater efficiency, and the high service delivery standards our clients rely on every day.

February reinforced an important truth: waste only becomes a problem when it isn’t managed properly.

Last month, we explored how fragmented waste systems increase risk, cost, and compliance challenges for businesses.

In March, we shift the focus to sustainability and environmental responsibility in support of World Zero Waste Day.
