Please note that there has been a drastic spike in crime during the day as opposed to at night.
Housebreakings are now common during the daylight hours and we would like to warn all residents to be extra vigilant and careful.
Please ensure that all your doors and windows are properly closed and locked when you leave your home. Activate your interior alarm and security beams and pay attention to people loitering in the street when you leave!
If you see suspicious movement or if someone enters your property, please report it immediately by contacting us on 085 999. It is very difficult to find suspects if we only receive the call 30 minutes after the incident has taken place. It might feel like it happened 10 minutes ago but experience has proven that it is closer to 30 or 45 minutes!
Yesterday morning shortly after 08h00 we received a call from an alert resident who noticed a suspect entering a property and we managed to apprehend the suspect almost immediately but he had already managed to open a window to gain access to the house in the little time that he had available. He is a wellknown criminal and was taken to Nampol for processing.
At around midday we received a call from a resident who found a suspect on her property and he had a few clever explanations when she approached him. Unfortunately, he managed to disappear and last night we noticed that someone had posted a photo of a suspect, which matched the description provided by the caller, peeping through one of their windows in the same area.
