Mesilau is a highland resort destination on the slopes of Mount Kinabalu, located 9km away from Kundasang town. Rising up to 2000 meters above sea-level, Mesilau is home to little Dusun villages and agricultural farms draped along the valley. Such high elevations result in a noticeably chilly environment with little ambient noise from surrounding montane jungles.

An alternative gateway to climb Gunung Kinabalu begins from Mesilau Substation of Kinabalu Park (closed till further notice), a route with more natural scenery and beautiful flora up to a checkpoint where it joins the main trail. The park also features resort accommodation and a natural garden with Nepenthes Rajah, the world's largest pitcher plant.

My visit to the Kuching Cultural Village was the undeniable highlight of my trip to Sarawak. From start to finish, the performance was nothing short of breathtaking, educational, and deeply moving.

The energy and passion of the performers were incredible. Every dance, from the graceful Ngajat of the Iban to the powerful blowpipe demonstration and the enchanting Sapeh (lute) melodies, was executed with precision and genuine joy. You could see the pride in their faces as they shared their living heritage.

What impressed me most was not just the great performance, but the heart behind it. The performers were engaging, often smiling and making eye contact with the audience, which made the experience feel intimate and authentic rather than just a show. The commentary was informative, helping us understand the stories, rituals, and meanings behind each segment.

The village itself is beautifully maintained, and the chance to see the traditional longhouses and craftsmanship.

A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for sharing your culture with such warmth and excellence.
This is a must-do for every visitor to Kuching. โ€ผ๏ธ
