A few Ringgit saved on the "sticker", hologram costs and being responsible for the environment by doing away with physical stickers and going digital.

What's been happening with vehicle registration plates in the region? Check out Indonesia's new number plates. Article below.
According to the Brigadier General Yusri Yunus, "One rationale for the redesigning of license plates is allowing easier detection of license plates by electronic traffic cameras, ....."

A more important rationale, for us at least, for a white background numberplate is for safety of motorcyclists (especially) and other vehicles on our kampung roads and highways where there is no street lights. A white background numberplate gives security as headlights from vehicles at the rear will highlight the vehicle in the front. The white background numberplate functions just like the signboards you see along our Malaysian roads.

A gentle reminder for car owners - please ensure your vehicle registration plate is readable.

1. Assist the Authorities with quick capture of culprits in cases of theft of vehicle
2. Helps defend us innocent motorists against summonses for offences that we did not commit (if our car looks generic like this MyVi and it cannot be identified by the registration, how will we prove that it wasn't us?)
