Multiple girders have been successfully installed in recent weeks as construction of the dedicated ART bridge across Sungai Kuap steadily progresses.

This ART bridge forms part of the Blue Line alignment of the KUTS Project.

Once completed, it will not only connect the two nearby ART stations — one near La Promenade Mall and the other at The NorthBank — to but will also serve as a key link within our new modern public transport system, connecting stations across Kuching and Kota Samarahan.

Works will be carried out from 10:00pm and scheduled to end at 5:00am, tomorrow morning.

A stretch of road along Jalan Wan Alwi, from the traffic lights intersections near Vivacity Megamall to the Simpang Tiga roundabout will be diverted for three months, from 10 July to 9 October 2026, for tree cutting and road widening works.
Works will be carried out daily, from 9:00am to 4:00pm.

There will be a temporary partial road closure at Jalan Tun Jugah (in front of Gala City) for four nights, from tonight (9 July) until 13 July, as we transport pier caps and U-beams to our construction site there from the fabrication yard at Kuching-Samarahan Expressway.
The transportation will be carried out at night from 10:00pm onwards, and the installation works is scheduled to end at 5:00am the next morning.
Please use alternative routes during this time, especially as the section of road there will be closed temporarily during the installation works for the pier caps and U-beams.
Please follow all traffic management measures along the transportation route as well as road signages and speed limits near the construction site.

We recently welcomed new colleagues who reported for duty here at Sarawak Metro, who will soon play various vital roles in our operations and maintenance team – responsible for keeping our Kuching Urban Transportation System running smoothly and helping to ensure better journeys for commuters.
After completing their training, our new team mates are set to serve as the Kuching Urban Transportation System’s future technicians, controllers, station officers as well as drivers for the hydrogen-powered ART vehicles and feeder buses.
