⚠️ Brace yourselves — the storm has arrived.

The Ministry of Transport (MOT) has approved and gazetted a 30% port tariff increase effective January 2026, now fully enforced as of April 2026 — despite fierce opposition from manufacturers.

📌 Port Tariff Shock
Implementation: January 2026 (phased, full by April 2026)

Authority: Ministry of Transport (MOT), announced by Transport Minister Anthony Loke

Scope: Container handling & storage at Port Klang, PTP, Johor Port

Increase: 30% across handling & storage charges

Storage Charges: Skyrocketed between 245% – 536%, depending on container type & duration (source: FMM press release)

💥 Impact: Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) warns this will bleed an extra RM1.2 BILLION annually from local manufacturers and importers.

🚛 Haulage Blow (Update 30/04/2026)
As if that wasn’t enough — Haulage Operators (container hauliers outside terminals) have announced a 15%–20% hike in base rates effective 1 May 2026.

"Bro, Please arrange everything, I don't want headache" .. of course I replied - "Yes boss!" ... so, we start checking their shipping documentations, apply the import permit, load and secure the truck onto the container, clearance at China Customs, Vessel booking, Malaysia Custom clearance and delivery to client. We aim to give our clients zero headaches for their Special Vehicles importation.

Sigh.. why is there Freight Forwarders that are so reckless!? Giving wrong advise and putting the client company in grave danger!? If you do not know how to handle DG shipments properly, please don't give the wrong advise. All it takes is just a fire onboard and the client company will fall into a very deep hole and might even end up closed down.

Misdeclaration of DG Cargo is a very serious offense. To me, the offense is equal to murder! The seaman are human too! You want to profit but make your profit in a proper way and not at the expense of another human life!

I hope that all my friends that's in business, please do not let the greed for profits blinded your humanity. We need to profit that's why we are in business. But have a heart, and not profit at the expense of another human life.
