On “International Reducing CO2 Emissions Day”, we are reminded of the urgent need to take steps to combat climate change.

The logistics industry is taking a leading role by committing to decrease carbon emissions and implementing sustainable practices, such as developing the first solar-powered vessel to be released next year, using wind as a clean energy source, and utilizing alternative fuels like electric, hydrogen, and biofuels, which significantly reduce the emission of CO2 and other greenhouse gases. The UN's International Maritime Organization (IMO) agreed
on April 13, 2018, to reduce CO2 emissions from shipping by 50% by 2050, requiring the industry to redesign its fleets.

The agreement is being perceived as the "Paris agreement for shipping" which aims to significantly reduce carbon emissions going forward.

It is increasingly essential that individuals, companies, and governments collaborate to decrease CO2 emissions, enhance energy efficiency, and shift to cleaner energy sources for a sustainable future.

🌏The annual regional meeting for Southeast Asia was held in Bangkok, Thailand on December 14th and 15th with representation from various countries' branch and finance managers, as well as the company's COO and SEA regional director.

The meeting set the region's strategy for the upcoming period and discussed several initiatives to help GES Logistics achieve growth targets in the SEA region.

📢 Mr. Abed Antar, COO of GES Logistics, Inaugurates new office in Istanbul.

On Tuesday 25th of October of 2022, our COO Mr. Abed Antar along with Istanbul Branch Manager, Mr. Turgay Saltan, inaugurated our newest office in Istanbul, Turkiye, with the presence of representatives from the headquarters as well as global offices and the team in Turkiye.

In a speech during the opening ceremony, Mr. Antar said: “Today we are not only celebrating the opening of a new office in the heart of Istanbul but also the rebirth of GES Logistics in Turkiye. Despite all the regional obstacles and uncertainties, the country has shown consistent economic advancement, development of promising and qualified local talents, and an anchored role as a global hub for manufacturing, commerce and trade. Moving forward, GES will expand its Turkish presence by establishing new branches in key port cities, thus solidifying our position in the market”.

“An integral part of this expansion plan is of course growing the current strong team that we have now to deliver world class services, with a customer centric approach and high sense of ownership, hence our moto: “Delivered by people who care””, Added Mr. Saltan.

The new office replaces our previous one and is located in the heart of the city’s business district, adding much more space and shortening the distance between us and our network, which will support our growth plans over the coming two years.
