In conjunction with Chinese New Year 2026, please be advised that heavy congestion is expected at ports, depots, warehouses, and major highways due to festive traffic, peak season activities, and the enforcement of road bans on goods vehicles.

🚛 Road Ban Dates:
* 14 – 15 February 2026 (Saturday – Sunday)
* 21 – 22 February 2026 (Saturday – Sunday)

⏰ Restricted Driving Hours:
* Heavy lorries, trailers & construction material vehicles:
⛔ Restricted at all times
* Container trucks, cargo lorries & empty cargo vehicles:
⛔ 8.00 PM – 8.00 AM
* Mobile cranes & concrete mixer trucks:
⛔ 6.00 PM – 6.00 AM
(Within 25km radius of construction sites, subject to approved routes)

⚠️ These restrictions are expected to cause delivery delays before, during, and after the festive period.

📌 As per Association of Malaysian Hauliers (AMH), hauliers will not be liable for any demurrage, detention, storage, SSR, or related charges incurred between:
🗓 10 February – 10 March 2026

Customers are strongly encouraged to plan shipments, deliveries, and collections early, and to factor in possible delays and additional charges during this festive season.

Penang Port THC Revision – Effective 19 November 2025

Please be informed that Terminal Handling Charges (THC) for all export and import shipments to/from Penang, Malaysia will be revised effective 19 November 2025, based on vessel arrival date in Penang.

📌 New THC Rates (Penang Port)
* MYR 653 / 20’
* MYR 983 / 40’
* MYR 1,391 / 40’RF

This adjustment is made in line with the latest port tariff update issued by Penang Port.

🔠 SCAC Code vs Owner Prefix — what’s the difference?

In shipping, both codes help identify carriers and containers — but they’re not the same 👇

📦 SCAC Code (Standard Carrier Alpha Code)
A 4-letter code used in the U.S. to identify transport companies (like shipping lines, truckers, or forwarders).

Example: MAEU = Maersk Line

🚢 Owner Prefix
The first 4 characters on a container number, showing who owns the container.

Example: MAEU1234567
“MAE” → Owner code (Maersk)
“U” → Equipment identifier (means freight container)

Other identifiers:
U → Container
J → Detachable equipment (e.g. chassis)
Z → Trailer or chassis

💡 So while SCAC helps customs and carriers identify the company, the Owner Prefix helps track who owns the actual container!

🚨 DGD ≠ MSDS!
Both are for Dangerous Goods, but they’re NOT the same.

📄 MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet):
Gives detailed info about the cargo’s hazardous properties (like a report card for your goods).

🖊 DGD (Dangerous Goods Declaration):
The official shipping document you submit to the carrier to declare your cargo as DG — without it, your shipment won’t be accepted!

✅ In short:
MSDS = Info about the product
DGD = Permission to ship it 🚢

Don’t risk shipment delays. We can guide you to prepare both correctly!
