Trip to the End of the Earth

Today as part of our research for Mainland Tours we rode to
Punta Allen, a road to the end of the Earth
Located in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, Road 15 is a journey to the end of the Earth. It’s known as one of the most spectacular coastal drives in the world.
The road is a rough 53.6 km track. It starts in Tulum along the east coast of the Yucatán Peninsula on the Caribbean Sea and ends in Punta Allen, the largest village in the Sian, it took us two hours to get there, standing all of the way trying to miss all the ruts, topes, sand, animals etc, it left us shattered, but we knew it was the only way back, and also we had to catch the 5pm ferry back to Cozumel.

We left Campeche at 8am, went on only twisty roads, going to Merida, Izamal, Valladolid and arrived at Tulum at 8pm, we had to travel at night, this is dangerous as most roads are not lit with little or no road markings in many places and unexpected pot holes, the Adventure bikes are perfectly suited to the roads here as numerous Topes etc which can ground our Harleys.

Congratulate Alexis, who yesterday, learned to ride his first Harley around the island, we started him with a Honda 150XL a couple of weeks ago then the BMW 310GS, but the Harley was his first proper bike, next week Softail Heritage perhaps?
