One of our famous getaway and explore PV surroundings, and how not loving it, due to the trip distance deserves at least 1 sleep, Hotel Colibri, has rooms right at beach with over extended terraces overlooking the beautiful beach and estero, Babel Bar is hosting the food and the bar, and a new beach bar in process in the pictures.
Just being there is a total bliss, but if you the active type, theres an incredible turtle sanctuary, kayak in the incredible estero, an incredible bird watching, playa el amor, in the other side of the cliff is something to see, enought to keep you busy for a couple of days, and the nights, hammoc on the beach watching a sky that seems falling down.
Straight drive there is about 3.30 hours, and to make it worst theres a ton of things to do on the way there:
Stop at the oxxo with the most beautiful view
Coffee and bread or pizza in a hut
Botanical Gardens
A cannon with waterfalls, that mades pools in the eroded boulders that is breath taking.
Quick stop to toilette in a a quaint village plaza, and kiosko, that pop out from nowhere
Tuito is the biggest town in area, famous for their Raicilla and cheese, and international new comunity thiriving there from some reason, that you will see why.
Before heading back to town is a well deserved visit to Tehuamixtle house of the most amazing 5 stars oysters, and sea food, the beauty of town, the cliffs and the bay is a whole experience.

San Sebastian
Trough a windy road that go straight to the mountains, this Pueblo Mágico, is so much to tell, had an amazing story that would love to share with you, being about 1.30 to 2 hr, depending on road conditions is the perfect getaway from those living in PV.
Way cooler specially in the summer, their enchanted streets, walks and houses is a whole experience, mines, and La Bufa is worth to rent a quad to get to the highest elevation point, 2500 meters high, with the right conditions is possible to see the ocean in the distance.
Considering that back and forth is about 4 hour drive, my suggestion is at least 1 night stay, there´s plenty of options, for different budgets, all beautiful villas, and haciendas, last time stayed in the one of the pictures, and im looking forward to have the visit of the most beautiful goats ever, in the morning coffee.
Side comment from well traveled friends, is like Tuscany.
So looking forward to drive you there!

Ameca River
Due to his location this bird paradise is a hidden jewel, to get there, will go trough an untouched Pueblito, next to the huge Vidanta resort, drive a jungle laberynth, with amazing sights at every corner, then a hike till as far as you want to the beach and the river, for as long as you want cause is sort of endless, is a morning trip, and includes pick up and return

Turtle Sanctuary
Our bay is where the Golfina turtle come to mate and lay their eggs, after almost 20 years of protection the population is healthy and thriving, is a beautiful experience and you can name your own baby turtle and release her to life and freedom, biologists and volunteers will welcome and explain the life cycle of this beautiful creatures, is a true experience and may have chance to see a crocodile in the distance.
It starts by 6pm every day, reservations required in order to have enough turtles fresh born in the day, after that can take you to a 28 pesos bar with fabulous cocktails, cause will be thirsty by then.
Pick up and return from your place, dont miss this unforgettable experience.
