May 5 Batalla de Puebla. The Battle of Puebla. 1862 Mexico vs France. It's a long weekend.

May 10 Mothers Day. Día de las Madres. Restaurants have special music and menus. Lots of roses are given to our mamacitas.

May 15 Teachers Day. A march about the needs of teachers in Mexico.

May 15-17 7:00pm. Fandango Costeño. A celebration of folk dance and music. Free. At the Agencia Municipal (City Hall) de Puerto Escondido.
