🚨 Out of Office Alert 🚨
May 15–22

Tomorrow I’ll be trading my desk for palm trees, jerk chicken, and a whole lot of resort touring in Jamaica. 🇯🇲☀️

I’ll still be available for current clients traveling during that time, but responses for new quotes and inquiries may be a little slower than usual while I’m away.

I’ll be back May 22 with lots of new resort content, tips, photos, and probably a serious coffee addiction from trying to survive early flight mornings and full resort tour days. 😅

One of the biggest reasons people use a travel advisor? Having someone in your corner when things don’t go as planned.

A client recently arrived at their resort and found out the room category they booked wasn’t available due to overbooking. Instead of spending hours arguing with the resort during their vacation, they reached out to me and I handled the back-and-forth after they returned home.

After reviewing everything, the hotel approved compensation of $225 USD for the inconvenience.

Travel issues can happen anywhere, even at amazing resorts. The difference is having someone to help navigate it, advocate for you, and make sure your concerns are heard.

This is the kind of support you don’t get from a booking website. ✈️

Feeling incredibly honoured to have been invited to Jamaica with some of my amazing team at Wind Waves and Wands Vacations 🇯🇲✨

I’ll be staying at Couples Sans Souci and Couples Swept Away, plus tour other resorts, experience excursions, and learn even more about Jamaica firsthand so I can better help my clients plan the right vacation.

I’ve sent out a TON of quotes over the last few days and I’m still working on a few more before I leave for Jamaica on Friday!

If you’re thinking about booking a trip, please reach out ASAP so we can get everything finalized before I go. While I’m away, I’ll only be available for clients currently travelling who may need assistance.

One thing that surprises a lot of clients 👀

People often ask me to price a 5-day trip because they assume it’ll save a LOT of money compared to 7 days…

But honestly? A lot of the time the pricing ends up surprisingly close 🤯

Example:
I just priced a client:
☀️ 5 nights = approx. $5650
☀️ 7 nights = approx. $5690

Only a $40 difference for TWO extra vacation days!!!

Why does this happen?

✈️ Flights are usually the biggest expense
Whether you stay 5 or 7 nights, the airfare portion often stays almost the same.

🏨 Resorts price differently by dates
Sometimes the cheaper flight days line up better with 7-night packages than shorter stays.

📦 Vacation packages are built around flight schedules
Many package companies price best around standard weekly departures.

So before automatically assuming shorter = cheaper, it’s always worth comparing both 😊

🌴 Let’s talk about WHY the Bahamas is having a nationwide alcohol ban on May 12, 2026 👀

It’s actually tied to their general election day 🇧🇸🗳️

The Bahamas temporarily bans alcohol sales during elections to help reduce public disturbances and keep polling stations calm and orderly while people vote. It’s something that’s been done there for years during major elections.

So on May 12:
🚫 No alcohol sales at stores, bars, resorts, or private cruise islands during the daytime hours
✅ Cruise ships can still serve alcohol onboard while docked

Honestly, imagine being at CocoCay on a “dry day” 😂🍹

Definitely one of the more interesting travel facts for 2026 cruisers
