🔥TRAVEL POINTS🔥 I am gearing up for some epic travel plans using 100,000 bonus sign on points from CSP (Chase Sapphire Preferred) and BILT mastercard. 100,000k points is UNHEARD OF!

I recently changed my financial future by allowing the money I already spend, to pay me back in travel. I had heard of people using credit cards to pay for everything including monthly bills… and paying off their balance every month as a way to earn rewards. I was never interested in regular rewards programs with no large returns and my bank just wasn’t paying me back.

With that said, three months ago I decided to give it a try. I switched all of my payments over to my Hawaiian credit card so I could start earning points towards all of my Hawaii travel. I started paying everything I could think of with my credit card. The only items I was not able to pay through my credit card, were rent and other credit card/auto/personal loans. Each month I have been racking up Hawaiian points and paying off my balance. At the end of the day, my credit scores are stabilizing and increasing and I started earning points! Finally letting my money work for me.

At the end of the day, though… I was not earning to my potential… and was told to check out CSP and their offerings. I applied, was approved and am on my way to receiving 100,000 bonus points as long as I spend $4k within three months. (I have been using the card for three weeks and I am about $1200 from reaching that goal.) I will be getting my points the following month.

Today I was told about BILT MasterCard. A card that allows you to pay your rent (not mortgage) without fees and as long as you pay off your balance each month (which you are doing anyway if you pay in a traditional way) you are earning points towards travel. I am absolutely taking my finances into my own hands and making my money work for me. It’s money I am already spending and I will be traveling for free because of it.

If you have questions, let me know.

**I am not a financial advisor** I am just a real person, making real money moves to pay for my travel. It’s pretty epic. You have to just dive in and make it happen. I am no longer using my bank for all transactions/expenses. The bank literally does nothing for me.

It’s scary to trust the process and do something new because you are no longer on a traditional budget and you have to still be aware of your spending but you just learn to do things differently. It’s been so worth it.

Cheers!

💋WEEKEND MINI TRIPS💋 Last weekend I was so stoked to book a mini trip for myself and a guest to San Diego ~ Gaslamp Quarter for a concert at Petco Park and fun around the city.

Being a SoCal resident and long time visitor to San Diego, I knew about all the things to consider that would make the trip stress free and extra fun… this included logistics (mode of transportation, how to get to and from all the things we had planned, location of hotel and distance to major landmarks on our trip etc.) This was really the part of the planning that ended up taking time up front but ended up saving us so much time while we traveled… making our short trip easy and stress free!

Anyone who has traveled by car to San Diego recently, knows that it can take up to 3 hours to travel there from Long Beach/LA County or Orange County. I decided that I needed a direct way to get there without the stress of stop and go traffic and I had the answer!! I had been on the Amtrak train before and knew that was the way to go. Our hotel was .5 miles from the Amtrak station in the Gaslamp Quarter and Petco Park was .5 miles from our hotel. It was the perfect way for us to travel down to SD… and it was about $100 round trip. It took 1.5 hours on the train and all we had to do was show up, park the truck for free overnight and hop on the train. They had adult and regular beverages in one car so once we were settled, we were already in Vacation mode. Perfect solution to the potential commute problem. We definitely waved at the people stuck on the freeway and toasted to them as we giggled and moved down the tack with ease.

I found us an amazing Boutique hotel called the Moxy Downtown San Diego. This place was AMAZING! We walked from the train station (because it was close and we had one roller suitcase with us so it was easy) to the hotel and when we walked in the door, we were blown away. There were large, adult sized games everywhere, DJ playing, amazing art and lighting everywhere and a sign that guided us to the bar to check in. I walked up to the bar and within a minute was greeted by a bartender who checked me in 3 hours early, within about 3 minutes. No hassle. Handed me room keys and two tokens for two free “welcome” drinks. It was the best!

When we got to the room, it was styled in urban decor and while it was small, it had everything we needed, including an amazing bathroom with a walk in shower. The bed was super comfy and every detail of the room (including an old school rotary phone) gave it that extra “cool” factor.

We enjoyed local food and drinks at places like The Whisky Girl and Brian’s 24 (highly recommend both.)

The venue at Petco Park was outdoor and the show was EPIC. Had a view of the baseball diamond and stadium. Saw bands I have waited over a year to see live.

The next day we headed back to LA County on the train and then drove to Redondo for another music festival. I got us a hotel room that was 1 mile from the event. It wasn’t an “urban-boutique” style hotel but it was everything we needed. We even got two free breakfasts for the next day.

I guess the reason for this post is to remind people that travel agents travel and we have experience making sure that every detail around logistics are considered. We do the research and we take our time up front to give our clients a stress free vacation based on individual needs and preferences. Let us help… let us take care of you. All you need to do is pack and show up.

If you are interested in a mini vacation or any other vacation (international or domestic)… I’m your chick! Will post videos soon. I can’t post all the vids from the hotel in this post.

Enjoy pics from our trip!

🏰 🌟Disneyland Vacations🌟 🏰

I had the pleasure of working with a client this week who wanted to plan a staycation at Disneyland Anaheim. She is a Burbank, CA resident and wanted a 2 Day park hopper + hotel package for one night, 5 guests. It was a blast being able help her get the mini vacation of her dreams.

With travel coming back, many folks are still looking to stay close to home and I can help you plan a staycation nearby. For those who want to go out of state or country I can help you plan for a faraway destination. The world is truly your oyster and I’m your person.

Please let me know if I can help make your vacation dreams come true!

🏝🏖Florida Keys🏝🏖 I love being able to quote trips for friends, family and new clients. Many people are opting for domestic travel as we work our way through the pandemic and I have to say that some of these resorts are truly amazing!

I was able to put together a quote for the Ritz Carlton Key Biscayne resort for 4, in a VIP Club Room. With Club access, guests have access to special dining with beverage service and entertainment not available to other guests. It truly is a VIP EXPERIENCE... 🙌🏻

With air, accommodations and transfers to and from the airport, the quote came in at $4700 for the entire trip. Truly amazing to be able to quote trips like these and give my clients that amazing value that they appreciate...

If international travel sounds daunting right now and if domestic resorts like this look amazing to you... let me help you book your next vacation! I’ve got you covered🙌🏻

🤙🏻🏝🤙🏻Travel Tip Tuesday (a day late)🙌🏻❤️🏝 GET THE MASSAGE AND EAT ALL THE FOOD! Honestly, that is the best advice to give for Cancun. The food is plentiful and the massages on the beach, amazing. My suggestion is not to get a massage at the spa in the resort. Use the massage businesses that have real estate, beach front and are using all safety precautions. Very sanitary and only $20 plus tip for 70 mins.

Also.... when at the resorts, check to see which restaurants are open on which days and make those reservations. For COVID the resorts are rotating which restaurants are open so they vary day to day. Some of the more luxury restaurants require reservations and with limited capacity (like the one shown here at only 38 people at a time) you will want to know how to reserve.

Hoping these tips will help you and looking forward to posting more tips from Playa Del Carmen! Steve Torres Jayme Sanford Torres

🏖🏝🛩Travel Tip Tuesday🛬🏝🏖
Using Carry-on luggage is my favorite way to travel. Saves time at the airport and gives you the added security of knowing your luggage will arrive at your destination when you do.

Because carry-ons are much smaller, you have to be strategic when packing. Here are some tips for the light traveler.

1. Roll your clothes rather than folding. This saves room and allows you to have a mostly wrinkle free look once you reach your destination.
2. Pack minimal toiletries as most hotels cover the basics. Bring only what you absolutely need. Hotels will list what they provide, on their websites.
3. Instead of packing books, bring a tablet that stores many so you have plenty to read on your trip.
4. Take a laundry bag with you so that when you are leaving your vacation destination you can easily separate the dirty clothes from clean.
5. Throw in a dryer sheet or two when you pack your bag. This will keep your clothes smelling fresh while you are away.
6. Pack items of clothing you can mix and match. Limit what you bring and remember that colder weather destinations require heavier fabrics... which take up space.
7. Put shoes and other heavy items on the bottom of your luggage. I also suggest throwing them in a plastic bag to keep them separate from your clothes.
8. Toss in a small travel size spray bottle of Downey wrinkle releaser to help with any wrinkling that may occur while in transit.
9. Remember to wear a sweater, sweatshirt or jacket to the airport so that you have something warm to wear in flight. This will also save you space in your luggage. Layering with your travel outfit... highly suggested. This is great for travel to colder destinations.

You can easily pack a weeks worth of clothing and other items into a carry-on bag so definitely try some of my “hacks”. Get real about what you “must take” with you and get packing! Your next destination awaits!

I will be posting more travel tips every Tuesday.
