Zacatecas México; one of the absolutely most beautiful magical cities in all of Mexico yet one of the least visited. It is in the state of Zacatecas which is a state with high cartel issues. But as with almost all of Mexico, almost no issues with tourists.
Zacatecas is a former mining town and one of the only places that has a Museum that actually goes into the mine. It honors the indigenous who were basically slaves for the Spaniards for 300 years and most lost their life’s.
The mine also has one of the only restaurants/clubs inside of the mine. The only access is by rail car.
Zacatecas also has the 3rd most museums in all of Mexico, the largest museum/collections of masks in the world.
It’s only a 4 hour trip from Guadalajara; a great 7 day trip, Guadalajara, Ajijic at lake Chapala, Town of Tequila and Zacatecas.
